But the main issue with doing what you did now needs to be applied to the helmet. The sides should be slightly sanded upwards as well so the bottom of the mouth guard is in line with the sides of the helmet.
Also, and this is my opinion only, the sides of the helmet need to be slightly thinned down, to a similar size to the V1 helmet. That would then make the helmet look proportionally correct.

But it does look good, and I'll probably do something similar to what you did as well !!

Yea, even with the MP10 KO trailer this will run me 1/2 the cost of the MP44. I’m thankful I got that early preorder price which has me holding onto it (for now). I guess well see, I don’t think Takara will adjust their price or update anything dramatic enough to change our thoughts on the value of their offering

You have ordered them from TF-Direct, haven't you?
I think I was born under a bad sign... I bought v1 from TF-Direct long time ago. As soon as the preorder was available, I preordered mi v2 head along with a sticker sheet. I got the stickers the following week, but I never got the head. I tried to contact them and I asked them what happened since they haven't shipped it yet. Moreover, they have never sent me an email with a shipping notification. So far, I haven't had any kind of feedback. No tracking number... nothing at all... TF-Direct are you there? No response...

Yeah, that's not good. I've had good luck with their customer service in the past so it's weird that they're not being more helpful. I'd say keep trying and hope they answer.

Yeah, and like I said, the face plate and sides were the same length in the dead picture but they got the perspective weird on the right side.

In the collage, though, it does seem to change length depending on the angle. In the top left and far right center, it looks shorter, though in the bottom left, it's just as long as the v2 head. But then nobody has ever accused the g1 cartoon of being consistent.

Personally, I like toon accuracy as a starting point but then liberties need to be taken to make it look good. I've always said I want my figures to look like an idealized version of the cartoon character if they existed in the real world.

LOL yea that does have that feel. I just noticed, in all these pics, Prime really doesn't have much of a neck.

I suppose either way looks right given the source material. For me at least, a lack of a long neck, and the face sculpt being a bit long, still feel pretty anime accurate to me, so for the most part, I'm satisfied. Still tho, should MP44 get a KO as good or better then the original, I'm gonna get it. TE01 tho will still be my fav.

Same. I'll get a mp44 ko for my Optimus/Megatron shelf (even though that'll push it even further out of balance toward Optimus) but TE01's position as my MP Optimus is secure.

Agreed. Tho I like MP44, its really TE01 that for me perfectly captured that anime look overall. His articulation is also part of it as the limits of 2D art at the time seems to convey such in 3D plastic format. The Windows are my only gripe in so much as the color seems off and missing. Would have loved some blue smoked windows in the release.
