Actually seen it and it is indeed awesome! A bit like Perfect effect PC-16!

Sure. This will show @Digger exactly what I mean too.

    PicsArt_05-08-11.57.12.jpg

Left is a front hinge ab crunch. Note the complete break in sculpt behind. Almost like someone has taken an axe to him and his torso is barely holding on to the hips by a thread.

Right is an ab crunch that uses a different method. Note zero break in sculpt yet a decent enough bend to aid in poses but still looks good from anything other than a straight front on view.

Edit - in fact right still uses a front hinge. It just goes one step further to make it look better by filling in the gaping hole that could happen on the left. It can go further but then it breaks the sculpt. Which defeats the point.

Problem with TF articulation is that it has to work around what the design can and cannot do. What works well for one figure just isn't possible for another.

MM looks lucky that FT was able to incorporate an ab crunch that has a backing wall to hide gaps. Whereas I'm pretty sure that feature wouldn't work for MP Megs (I've never been able to snap my IT Megs ab crunch. That sucker is so tight I'm deftly afraid something important will break trying. Think is, I don't miss the feature even though it is there.)

Though I'm sure that he is missing some piece of articulation somewhere, that is driving someone crazy enough to constantly rant against it.

I remember reading a few pages back that TE01 was going to possibly have a 3rd run batch? So we know Batch 1 or V1 sold out. V2 or Batch 2 with the new head sculpt is available, or is it getting close to selling out as well?? Does that mean that TE has pretty much sold out of their Batch 2 and now with orders needs to produce a 3rd batch for release??

Absolutely, my argument is ab crunch isn't the be all and end all, especially if it makes things messy. Do it right or don't bother, extra parts equals extra money.

Would cut down the air fucking poses considerably too and that's a huge bonus.

    IT-01 has an ab-crunch? Didn’t know that!

Why would they produce a 3rd batch otherwise?

Okay @TigerBlade actually has a pretty good point and I probably agree with him. But that’s just whack.

That cell shaded look placed behind the windshield looks awesome!

The poses don’t look as good as with MP44 but he can still do the first one nearly as good without even an ab-crunch!

I've always read that he has one being a straight KO of MP Megs, unless I'm mistaken.

Was only half joking, but there is some truth in it even if it is whack. Even whacker is that MP/3rd party have made us spoiled, overly-critical and insecure people.

I mean maybe. I dunno. That’s the fault of the people to be fair. If they’re gonna go in and think their ways it’s fine. But letting it lead into things of your real life is a problem of your own. I don’t think that’s a good choice and I won’t ever let that happen. I’m critical of what I see and what it achieves. I compare and stats what I’d prefer. It’s not a big deal honestly. Whatever, I’m outta here. Call me back when they make a comic deco or something crazy and wacky happens. Anything to excite me over what is a really solid prime alternative that just isn’t speaking to me.

Never said real life. I'm talking about on here. It's whatever, but this place is a lot less fun to talk about and enjoy the toys than it was ten years ago.

Well shit, no wonder it didn't want to pop loose. Glad I didn't really try to force it then.

He has. Just that it is just abit tight.
I have all KOs - IT, THF and Magten. The ab crunch is present

I don't mind them if they're implemented well, but how many actually are? The vast majority of them completely break the sculpt of a figure and as such are useless. The ab crunch on MS-01 looks terrible, yet people cite it as an advantage over TE-01. I don't think I own many figures that have a genuinely useful/good looking ab crunch and I certainly wouldn't base a purchasing decision on it.

*Edit* Since someone asked earlier, IT-01 does have an ab crunch. It's just locked into position, unlike MP-36 and the other KOs, so it requires a bit of force.

Thank you, I have to check mine!

I agree that it isn’t an advantage for MS over TE. MS looks too bulky so an ab-crunch looks really weird, especially his!

Don't you want you're Optimus Prime to look like he's been snapped in half and then photoshopped back together?

    :p

(quick Google search of pic, no idea who did it. Just highlights my issues with the badly done joint)

I dunno, it looks good when used sparingly, but those extreme poses are when it looks horrible.
