I'm right there with you.... Couldn't get off the fence so I ordered both. Hoping to get both of them in this week. Kind of like the 3P Megatron wars a coupe years back... But these appear to be an even closer call.

First i thought the MS version is the ultimate version.
After looking at more pictures and surely after reviews, my eyes turned to TE version.
I'm waiting for the second run of it which should have a new face.

    No interest in MP-44.
TE version is better and 4 times cheaper.

I plan to get both. Right now I have MS-01. I plan to pick up TE-01 when he becomes available. They are both fantastic interpretations of Prime and both have a place in my collection. And it just so happens I can get the 2 for less than I would have to pay for MP $440.

In what ways do you think he's sub-par to MP44?

I'd say the lack of an upper thigh swivel that negatively impacts poseability first and foremost- for me at least. But that's been discussed/mentioned a lot already and supporters of this figure don't want to hear about it anymore. They've have made their peace with it, myself included. ;)

But it doesnt impact its poseability..It only impacts it aesthetically....The swivel maybe lower than the thigh but its still above the knee,so you get the exact same articulation

Yeah, I also don't like that, but have come to terms with it. Don't even think about it when handling him.

I gave MP44 the thumbs down since the prototype pics. Too many compromises, and not the right ones for my taste.

The best things about 44 are the head, playability/accessories, and articulation
    Everything else goes to TE
If they did an accessory pack for OP Leader with a new head, etc., I’d buy that in heartbeat

The backpack on MP-44 is the thing giving me pause. I'm generally much more forgiving about backpacks than most MP/3p collectors (don't mind Sunstreaker's or MP-28s in the slightest). But that monstrosity is stretching the boundaries of good taste. Especially for that price. And in service of a gimmick enabling the toy to gibber at us in a language most of us can't understand, in a voice to which most of us have no attachment. I wouldn't be a fan of that even if were Cullen's voice coming out of that massive back.

I wish could put the voice gimmick in the trailer or ion blaster and make the back compress a bit more instead
Or give us a light-up cannon instead of voices like TE
That’s way cooler than a voice

The flat but properly shaped back on TE is a huge advantage over MP-44. And even MS, which already looks fine from the back.

Sorry- I should have been more specific on my issue with it. It technically HAS the same articulation but it doesn't LOOK like the same articulation because of the un-rotated thigh is all. That said, you're right, it doesn't stop one from posing him. But if it looks bad aesthetically when "posed," in my book that impacts it's poseability. It makes him look awkward and not AS good on display to me- but he still looks damn cool. But many aren't bothered by the way the legs look so it's a win for them, and as always each to their own. I DO really like BOTH the MS and the TE in spite of their individual issues and still haven't decided which to keep yet. Maybe both? :p

In general, if you're going to reduce yourself to pedantry, at least be correct. Either phrase is correct, and common.

    each to their own

No, its not. It's actually commonly said BOTH ways.

And I wasn't writing a dissertation or text book- Not really sure why you're even compelled to try correcting something so mundane, but you might want to look things up prior to publicly correcting someone.
