That alt mode is..disappointing.
Looks like the proportions are shortened, it looks too much like the G1 toy and not in a good way. Looks like they modeled it after that versus the actual car. It will be intersecting to see it next to other carbots.
Seems like the front fender on the altmode should be wider?
Fair enough. That's all positives to me, we've already got 2 more realistic alt modes so it's nice to have a slavish g1 one now.
everyone gets an option for their specific taste. Imagine that.
Looks good and that posability is great but I guess they sacrifices the alt mode to make their bot mode possible.
Agreed. Too flat and too short with a particularly stubby nose. Toon accurate bot mode with real world alt is the way to go. Toon accurate alt just looks bad.
All good but I wish companies would focus on characters that have no figures yet.
I read this sentiment a lot on releases of figures that have already have a version. I get it, but people need to realize that this point the characters left to do are (for the most part) obscure. These companies are about making money and nothing is more sure in this hobby than seasons 1-3 (season 1 being the most popular). So while I do want everyone to get what they desire, the reality is that there is a certain group of bots and cons that will always be produced because they are the most in demand.
Noway mate. S2 had the best characters and the best writing!
But MMC was in dire need of an update. Glad I skipped the cellshaded one.
the alt mode looks good enough to me at this point i'm half expecting a takara mp mirage reveal soon
although a lot of the g1's have been done there are some that can be done better ie: mirage , jazz ,trailbreaker , hoist , and most of the minibots ... all of them have been done but there is room for improvement and until each has the definitive version company's will keep having a bash at them it's just the way it is...... the swap out game is part of collecting for me
stealing my photo to disparage toys that I greatly enjoy is not too cool. People on this board need to learn that their personal likes and dislikes are not the same as objectively good and bad. Thinking “I like it = it’s good” and “I hate it = it’s bad” is the way a child reasons. Personally I love mp44 and mp45 and cannot stand the TE prime that looks to me like Primes loser cousin, but I understand that my opinion only applies to myself and other people are free to have different opinions. I also hate broccoli but that doesn’t mean I go around campaigning against it or thinking it shouldn’t exist...
Anyhow back on topic...the vehicle mode for this mirage looks good and my only real complaint is the smoosh lips. Wonder if there are other face options...someone said, and I agree, that it looks like an early FansToys face sculpt. Wonder if the designer is the same guy?
when you put a photo on a public forum it's not stealing if someone uses it but great pictures
The nice thing about designs made by Ironstar is that he listens to our input. If you guys all go and let him know what could be better, he MAY make another face that better matches the animation.
fair let’s say “repurposing” and thanks!
Elongate the car chassis by half an inch and you have a Fanstoys design, perfection.
The vehicle mode is a bit too short, that's what looks off. Not sure how it could be elongated give how it's a very tight transformation. The length of the car sides is dictated by the length of the upper arm and shin panels.
I'm so getting this guy.
TE is second FT to me.
And since they are new in the market, it's still reletively cheap compared to FT.
Even IF Takara released this, TE will be cheaper and I will have more confidence it will not chip paint or break somewhere and wished I waited for the reissue.
Figure looks fantastic. Just need colors and to lock a pre-order down.
There won’t be any paint chipping because there won’t be any paint to chip.
