I really hope they do a repaint as RID Scourge

 

Odd choice, but I'll take it. I used to get anoyed at repaints of Cybertron Prime into non firetruck colours. But these days I recognize that it's not a firetruck it''s a ICBM carrier trying to blend in at a firetruck convention.

 

I could never take it seriously that Cybertron Optimus was supposed to be a firetruck. He looked nothing like a firetruck. Plus he was armed to the teeth in altmode and the super mode.

So that's one reason I like the idea of the mold being used for RID Scourge. Also because the head design reminds me more of the Laser prime head, which I feel resembles more of a crown than the sort of baseball cap design of G1 Optimus.

But mainly because as a set he looks badass enough to evoke someone like Scourge.

Looing at my fan recolour again and I have to say I don't like the red windows from truck mode. I should have made them the same faux mirror-like style as I did with the chest but this already took up most of my night and I can't be bothered working on it any more. Although I guess just changing the windows themselves to white/grey would be easy enough when I have time.

Plus in my opinion, the red windows used for many Nemesis Prime repaints don't look al that great anyway. FOr someone like me who loved the RID Scourge character design, the main colours where what you saw from the front in bot mode, where red was only present in the eyes. To me that makes the red from the windows non essential.

In fact just covering the shoulders on screen with my thumbs make the recolour look like a dead ringer for RID Scourge.

Again though this is just my biased opinion, fueled by my love for the character and their design.

 

I get that, problem is it won't be see as Scourge specifically, but as just a general Cybertron Nemesis Prime, even with those windows and a sword.

 

Thank god this is still a thing! It looks amazing.

 

Objectively Best Prime of the three.

 

I absolutely love TE Prime but he just looks so bland next to TNR.

...You are aware that RID Scourge is a repaint of the Laser Optimus Prime figure right?

Besides dismissing it based on the colours alone is like saying all the Optimus Prime figures since G1 aren't Optimus Prime because they have different molds.

anyway, since I'm a night owl I ended up tweaking it more. Obvious it won't ever look EXACTLY like the RID Scourge, but in terms of colour palette and placement I feel it's enough to closely evoke the spirit of the character

 

LOVE the look of the base figure. Brilliant!

I wish the combined mode weren’t quite so long and lanky.

 

Such a relief that I won't have to settle for one of Fans Hobbys figures to have at least one good version of Prime from the Unicron Trilogy.

 

I was totally in on this OP but after recently getting the Hybrid one I thought I was out.

But of they do this repaint or maybe Nova Prime then I'm back in again for sure.
