Hot Shot be like: "I CAN'T FLY GUYS! WHY AM I UP HERE AND WHERE'D THIS SECOND GUN COME FROM!?"
    Energon Optimus would be cool.
I agree about Mega-Octane's transformation, i always liked how his hands popped out first and then he transformed. (Timestamp 0:14)

Yeah the super robot styling is a huge upgrade to this design

So looking over the render of the super mode again, I noticed something a little concerning.

To me it looks like the guns won't be able to go under his arms like they should. Which is very confusing since its such a crucial part of the design. It perplexes me that something so simple and so essential would be left out when the rest of the figure seems entirely on point and spot on.

In looking at the truck, you can see the cannons are directly attached to the central part, rather than the wings. I'm hoping they're detachable and able to be underslung properly, but as it stands.. Yeah, poor oversight

Wait a minute. Second take. See something else off about the design?

Its those big chunks over the shoulders. Its hard to tell from this angle, but they look to be part of the guns. What if the guns aren't big multijointed sticks like the original figure and the Siege figure, but instead two big masses that rotate up and down.

Also, I wonder if/how they're going to handle the cyber key functionality.

A.) Those chunks are the main swivel for the turrets, they aren't attached to the wings like the original and I don't see any room for the maneuverability you suggest.
B.) No slots in the cannons, may just be manual. If anything.

Sidenote: This may mean no flying Firetruck mode. 0/10, worst toy

Yikes. As amazing as this looks, I'm disappointed by the lack of a couple critical features. At the very least I hope it can do the flying truck mode.

Regardless, I'm scaling my hype waaaaay back. I'm happy that the Maketoys version is still going to happen. As is I have more faith that they'll get the important stuff in. And even if that falls through, the Siege figure is still always a nice option.

These are also just renders, early ones, no less. We likely aren't seeing everything, may not even be the final design. I can't imagine they'd neglect such important details.

I won't panic just yet. The underslung guns are such a vital part of Galaxybertron Primevoy's look that if they left it out they'd be completely insane. And while I know some people didn't like their Jazz, I don't remember anybody thinking they were completely insane.

That's a nice update on the character's toy. Maybe not overly significant in its changes, but the original was very good and a major overhaul wasn't ever needed. I like the option of moving the cannons above the wings and hanging them down, that kind of storage looks better than them oddly pointing upwards when not used; adding this seems like a matter of just mounting an additional swing bar in in the middle of the non-visible side / back of the wings, so I'd say the regular under-wing-cannon or flying truck configuration isn't lost here. Chances are also that while we can't see Cyberkey slots in the renders, they just might be hidden and rise to visibility with the whole area where we expect them to be. That may still be just for show and the cannon expansions may be manual if at all, but I don't mind, I never use these gimmicks on the original toy and wouldn't miss it.

The only thing I ever did with Cyber Keys was lose them. Hours of floor-scouring play value!

Prime's key WOULD be a nice display piece, however. If for nothing more than to prop it up at his feet a la MP Dinobot's Golden Disk

Pretty sure I'm going to wait till the prototype drops before deciding how it's mechanisms work.
