I think this project is dead.
Ugh. Do I have to go over this again? TnR's Facebook was created as a personal one, Facebook has a habit of shutting down pages that don't belong to real people.
This project was created sometime in mid 2015. Omnigonix's Spinout is just barely getting to the point where it's near release, and it was started back in 2014.
And that isn't even the longest a 3rd party project has been delayed.
Saying a project is canceled does nobody any good. Unless you're trying to convince e-retail to preemptively kill a project, much like what nearly happened with Gauntlet. That project too, was taking too long for the fandom, and BBTS cancelled its orders. Which forced Mach 5 (the creators of the Gauntlet design) to fold.
Luckily, Mech iDeas was able to salvage everything & we got the mold after all.
Look, this is a new company. I think if you've got established ties with a factory (and maybe willing to pay the premium price for production) things can get out a bit faster. However, if this is like Omnigonix then you should expect at least a year & a half development time.
It hasn't been even a year. So these repeated dead declarations are annoying. We don't know anything. The fact that e-retail hasn't cancelled anything should at least be taken as a good sign everything is still on.
You can huff and puff over this all you like, I know at least one retailer who has now stated they consider the project cancelled. Just because somebody isnt coming round to your house and slapping you in the face with a declaration that it is cancelled, doesnt mean it isnt cancelled, and what OTHER companies do is not reflection of what this one does, so drawing parallels is utterly pointless.
I get your optimism, but please dont act like we're dickheads for seeing the writing on the wall for this project.
Hova is still alive... We'll likely get more info after CNY.
Omnigonix is not a great example. Their lack of response to design concerns and delays have caused their project to lose a lot of sales, and for the record its still not out.
Although I would agree you cannot say for sure that it is dead, you can say that taking a really long time to get to market means you run the risk of losing sales or having to quit before market. Some reasons are
1. people lost interest who become tired of waiting
2. losing sales and preorders to other more established 3p manufacturers who get a similar product to market sooner
3. losing sales to those who chose to buy other characters altogether that make it to market sooner.
4. having to sell dirt cheap or just scraping at the last stage if TT suddenly drops an official bomb.
Barely clinging to life is a better term to use.
Coming from you, honestly that's good enough for me until/unless we hear otherwise.
This is good news....
That's great news!!!
I hope you are right! I luv me some Jazz, so putting this guy (back) on pre-order, lol. An april release date would be da tits.
This is great news
Damn it- now I want it.
I hope this doesn't become another Omnigonix with 2 years of waiting for the release...
I actually can't wait for this one! They did a great design! My preorder shall remain until it ether gets released or takin down. I really do hope it's still getting released. We NEED this "MP Jazz"!!!
