I would not be opposed to this.
Jason Statham should be presented as a grown-up Shia Laboeuf.
Best idea ever. Get rid of the boys and put in a real action star. I love all jasons movies. I hope this is a go. Yes make the tf movie darker and less childish.
I'm not even going to read this thread before saying stop it. Just stop it. Enough with the whole movie thing for a while.
I think Shia Labeouf growing up into Jason Statham would completely blow my suspension of disbelief...
I'd be fine with this. Of course, I'm sure theres someone much better for the role as of right now I'm okay
Yeah, that would be great. His dad would be like "WOW! You've changed. Are you sure you're my son?"
I'm loving this rumor. Statham is a real life bad ass who doesn't require numerous stunt doubles and CGI!
Ya know i would like to see Unicron make an appearance in the next one. But who oh who could you get to help Prime with this big task since sam wants out? If Statham fails we could call in Chuckimus prime.
For the people who want a reboot, Why? I don't really like reboots as much as I like continuation. There are so much more story and characters that can be use in the existing continuity. Reboot seems like several step back and wasted time to introduce the same characters again. I'm ok if BB and OP gets a completely new look. I want Shia, but a grown up Sam/Spike would be good but with Carly and Daniel. New director, maybe Spielberg or Cameron. Whoever it may be, he can take it into a new direction.
Didn't Bay say he was done with this series?
If so, bring it on.
No problem, if Jason stathams gonna be a more baddass version of sam, he can drive the badass version of BB, Cliffjumper!! Hasbro can sell the same molds, chevy can sell the cars! Its basicially gonna be TransporterFormers IV
They should just do a G.I. Joe crossover already.
It could work. They discover the Transformers and NEST, work together, find out that the Decepticons aren't quite gone or something, basic stuff.
As for toys, Hell, I'd settle for Human Alliance and mainline Transformers next build-a-bot Joe series that comes with parts for a big Optimus Prime or something.
Now Jason Statham... if we get a Human Alliance figure of him I'm in.
I'd be ok with Jason Statham, but I wouldn't want Rosie to be in. There would need to be some throwaway line about her leaving Sam, and why suddenly he is an "Alien Bad News Magnet". A complete reboot would be good, like the 86 movie, except Optimus lives. There really isn't anymore Decepticon villains (unless, like in the 86 movie, they ALL get revived by Unicron!), but Optimus would be mandatory, because lets face it, the general audience just wants to see Optimus kick some rear-plate.
Reboot or not, there needs to be less focus on humans, better writing & the altmodes are going to have to be changed (preferably w/ an explanation... or a reboot -- & I don't mean minor things, the Camero is getting O-L-D & they can't improve on RotF Leader Prime much), otherwise Hasbro's going to have even MORE shelfwarmers...
Okay. I am an overall Bay movie hater, so my opinions don't really matter to anyone. Still, does a fourth film really sound like a good idea, rater than a reboot? Consider that the director and basically everyone involved is moving on, and will be replaced in the next installment. Formula's like this usually lead to disaster.
And Jason Statham is one of those guys who can only ever play one character. If he's meant to be a grown up Whitwicky, he had to have been blessed by Chuck Norris or something.
I'd prefer a Crank 3, honestly.
wat the hell is he going to do, take his shirt off, grease himself up and kick a transformer in the face?
*Dislike this RUMOR, not news.*
Well, the Thread title implies it's a rumor & the Front Page title out right says it is... Noone who can read has said this was "News."
I would like to know if the OP purposefully used "Feel", or just doesn't know how to spell "Fill"?
Ah, the constantly churning rumor mill...
Regardless of the truth status of this bit o' "news", I for one don't feel that the Transformers movie needs to be taken in a darker direction. Rather, it needs more substance.
^man you are so right.
also casting some big action star can just drive the attention to him not on the robots. transformers movies are for transformers not some popular action star. casting a brilliant but not much known actor might be better choice.
