So I saw the thread for the old Voyager (ish) Optimal Optimus, but not for Legends version Trans Art just released. Pics have been floating in a few threads but not in one of it's own. I have one on the way from Robotoybase (Chimungmung) and should be here in the next few days. He's supposed to be 12cm so will be roughly Legends Plus (ish). Should go really well with my old Robot Masters (custom) version of BW Megatron. BTW, that is the oversized ko of Dutch he's compaired with that is supposed to be 12.5 cm. This guy should go really well with the Transform Element legends Rattrap and Blackarachnia coming out.
That would be awesome! But he does the chest beating the original figure did. That's the action gimmick So mine arrived today. Hope to fiddle with it a bit after work. In hand this guy is definitely a simplified and shrunken down version of the original ultra class figure. No back canons and all the flaws the original had are still here. Plastic isn't that great and feels a bit flimsy, not shampoo bottle level just a lot lower quality than I'm used to. Swords look too small in hand too. I will be modifying mine a decent amount. He's shorter than HS Prime but much bulkier. All in all I don't have buyers remorse, but it certainly doesn't wow me either. Will post pics tomorrow.
yeah, this definitely looks like a step back for the legends game. it is more of a cash grab with a shrunken bot. wish it was a true legends design with updated and cool tweaks.
Yep, I have the Iron Factory Optimal Optimus on order but this was cheap enough that I don't mind working on it. It desperately needs at least new hands and wrist swivels
Did u ever get this in? Curious as to the quality and maybe some comparison with other Beast Wars or MP figures
Yeah I got it in but it's in storage right now. Quality was just ok and he's about the same size as the Robot Masters version. Honestly he was very underwhelming in hand. Had some pics in the thread for it but don't have them on me right now.
Robot Master is better, it still has the arm cannons and good sword storage. As well as other little touches like sculpted rocket boosters hidden in the back.
It feels a tad light and hollow. Not brittle, but I wouldn't give it to a little kid. As mentioned above, he's been stripped of his built-in weapons. Funny enough, the chest pumping still works fine. Overall he works well as a stand in legends Primal until something else comes along.
Never cared about stuff like that would rather have show accuracy and good articulation over gimmicks
