After breaking Tracks' flight stand off in Ironhide's iron hide yesterday I decided to make this real simple piece to fix it. I trimmed the entire 3mm peg off and designed this to be like a cap that fits over the wider portion of the mount. Fits like a glove! I didn't have the broken peg for the length so it ended up a little long. As you can see from the layers, I printed it out sideways so the peg would be stronger. Look away if you're squeamish. Yeah, a little long, but it works. I may trim it down. Yay, he can fly again! Didn't realize I had a happy Lego head in the picture as well.
Crap, I never answered you! Yeah I think I'll look into it. I've never sent any of my own designs to them so we'll see how it goes. I'll keep you updated.
Thanks for your interest everyone. I've decided to put this on Shapeways but here's the deal: This piece you see in these pictures was actually printed at work as I don't have a 3d printer at home. This being the case, I can't sell it because that would be unethical and I like my job. So I've drawn it up at my house on my own computer and I have uploaded the file to Shapeways so I can test it and make sure it's good to go. Once I confirm that everything's good I'll put it up in my store and I will definitely let all of you know when it's available. Unfortunately it's going to take like 10 days before I even get my piece, so that kind of stinks. I do really appreciate everyone. I hope this works out. It stinks these stands break so easy but it will feel really good to help the community out a little bit.
