I haven't owned either, so I can't fairly make a suggestion. In fact, why don't you just get both? You wouldn't want to give away your Classics if there's a chance you might regret it, right?

The TR one is the one I'm going for. I've looked at the Classics one several times and something about it is just off to me.

I'm personally more interested in the Titans Return version at this point in time.

I have the Classics Side Burn repaint, the mold is eh... okay? I personally am holding out for the Titans Return, though at some point I MIGHT get the Platinum set so I can get the Junkions in it.

I can't really answer this one, I feel like he's a bit of a lateral move from Classics ~ for every improvement over the '06 version, he seems to have a drawback.

The odd sunken ab section and fin being too low on his back in particularly are dissapointing.

He also doesn't correct my biggest gripe about the design of the old one, the engine block being featured on the chest instead of his collar piece.

And that's another thing - Classics had some proportional issues, but I feel like the TR figure has just as many (they are just different ones)

I have the Classics version but the TR one looks waaay better already. The Classics figure suffered from bad articulation even for that era with awkward shoulders and no biceps rotation besides, it was too short.

The TR toy seems to fix all of those problems and is even a much better looking figure overall to boot.

Classics is so, so dated. It was dated when it was brand new. Limited posability, very chunky, clunky design. The alt mode is sweet, but the robot mode is a mess.

    TR Rodimus looks much nicer.

I'm sticking with Classics. TR Rod looks cool but I have no use for a Headmaster Hot Rod.

I'm gonna be picking up the TR Deluxe as soon as I can, but will probably also hunt down the inevitable LG version if it winds up being a Blurr or Sky-Byte level difference.

I'd actually take the Animated Deluxe over either, if only it had a nose....

AFA fitting in with the recent rereleases/updates of the TF:TM figures, I've got to go with TR Hot Rod. The Headmaster gimmick is odd on him, but the TR figures' execution has generally proven well-done, IMHO.

That said, I'm sticking with Legends Rodimus, both for his compatibility with CW combiners and the snickering I get to do when displaying him beside Kup, etc. (Roddy actually looks like a representation of his emotional age :p

Classics Roddy should have been updated years ago.

Battle in Space is completely ruined by the painted windshield, imo. I would like the colors otherwise, but that sky blue paint kills it for me.

For robot mode, I'm kind of torn between Henkei and TR. Both have strengths and drawbacks. I might prefer Henkei. Or actually, United Rodimus Convoy, probably my favorite deco from that mold. For vehicle mode, I think i prefer TR.
