I keep going back and forth on whether or not I wanna trade in my classics Rodimus for the new version. I never really liked the old figures sculpt or paint.

I dunno. What do you guys think?

Well I never had the opportunity to get ClassiRod, so I'm excited for his TR version, big chunky shoulders and all. But had I bought ClassiRod I probably wouldn't go replacing him.

The classics mold kind of sucks. I have bought and sold the figure 3 times. The TR version looks really good, I will get the Getaway version of the mold because I am happy with MP-28.

Right now I have Classics Hot Rod from the RTS Battle in Space set on my classics shelf and I'm pretty happy with him. But as for Titans Return Hot Rod, I can't fairly say if I will get him to replace Classics Hot Rod or not until we get some reviews. Especially since a few Titans Returns figures have had some issues here and there.

Now if Cloud Rodimus would have been a bit more within my budget, he might be on my Classics shelf instead. :)

Titans Return Hot Rod. I've been in need of a Rodimus for my display since I started my IDW themed collection but I never liked the look of the Classics one.

Definitely replacing my Classics Roddy with the Titans Return one. Superb articulation update and that alt mode is just swish.

I sprang for cloud rodimus. Pretty good, but the springer head kills it for me. I have actually been toying with the notion of modding it to be TR compatible and using the Rodimus titan master with it.

But I agree, I can't call the new one better or worse till I have it in hand. I've always liked the classic mold pretty well though. I have two: the original classics that I'm using with the protector armor, and my BiS which is my "hot rod."

The other option is animated rodimus, who is probably a better mold if you can take mixing Animated figures into CHUG.

I have the RTS Rodimus too, but I'm curious to see the Takara legends deco of this new one. Right now I'm not swayed by the Hasbro deco.

I want a new Hot Rod since the arm falls off my RTS figure every time I transform him.

Henkei Hot Rodimus is my ideal, non-MP Hot Rod, and along with a spare and the FansProject Protector Armor, my ideal CHUG Rodimus Prime. Zero interest in the TR version.

Classics, for sure. It may not be the best, but it's still pretty good. I just think the TR one looks bad, plus it's a Headmaster.

TR Roddy. As much as I loathe the character he is a character I love to loathe. And the TR version just looks like a ton of fun.

Classics fills the void quite nicely.
Depending on reviews, I am very open to replacing him with the TR one.

I voted classics but have every intention of buying TR when it comes out too.

TR. Classics has some nice details and was great for the time, but has aged poorly. The proportions are all wrong. Tiny arm lasers. It really doesn't work next to the much more modern Ultra Magnus, Springer and Arcee. Exchanging Generations Blurr for TR was proof of this to me. The continuing use of Generations Kup rather than a new cup is further evidence.

Older Generations tried to do classic characters in updated alt-modes. It worked very well at the time. It still works reasonably well on it's own shelf. But the last few years we got "Nearly perfect" Blurr, Springer, Arcee and Ultra Magnus, which makes the older Generations with their blocky parts look out of place compared to the atheltic looking modern designs.

Classics Hot Rod was great, but it's time for a change.

If you get a Classics Rodimus, I'd say go for the Battle in Space version - it's the one I have and I think the mold looks way better in that deco. TR Rodimus looks good too but I'm gonna wait until he comes out to see if I need one.

I don't know if it'll help at all, but I actually have Animated Rodimus in my Last Light display and I like him a lot - he doesn't stand out TOO bad, aesthetically speaking, and he's a much closer fit to this IDW appearance than any other version of him available right now.

Classics Rodimus is perhaps one of the worst figures I've ever owned. So TR by a landslide.
