You're right, but to be fair, these figures you're bringing up are new to US retail.

I think hasbro has a tough time dealing with retailers and movie cycles. It seems this happens every time.. the late waves are sometimes passed over because retailers are gearing up for the movie push.

I pre-ordered Brawn and Roadburn from TFSource for $22. That's only ~$1 more total than finding them in the store. Saves me the trip(s), and I don't have to worry about missing out if I don't find them.

Shipping will be like $5 at BBTS for them, that's what it said when I preordered, especially since my POL will start new with them.

Which may impact the TR wave 5's more than anything else since they'll likely be a June/July release...

Other than that TRU set, I haven't purchased a figure from retail since Wave 2 deluxe's went on sale at Walgreen's in Oct/Nov. so Bayformers weren't even an excuse back then.

Sadly Brick and Mortar are simply falling off in many areas these days.....

Bbts shipping is $5 plus additional shipping charges for every pound it weighs.

My point is that after you add in shipping, depending on how frequently one drives on hunts, you're not really saving a whole lot of money as you're actually paying closer to $15 per figure after all is said and done. That's more than $1 extra per figure.

I was referring to my preorder of the two Legends, it was $5 at time of order, it's usually the same when it's time to ship.

Yes, if added to my stack of $150 or more for free shipping. No problem there for me as I always have a stack running at TFSource. I only ship after I get over the $150 mark, which can take awhile, but I don't care about being the first to have new TF figures. Good price and less hassle are most important for me.

It's a big assumption to think that the retailers tell Hasbro what toys to make. The reality is that Walmart/Target/Walgreens/Meijers/etc. DO NOT CARE AT ALL which toys they sell. They care about SELLING only. It could be Taco figurines, it could be rainbow princesses. It does not matter to retailers. If we can ALL get clear on that, maybe we can hold Hasbro more (and appropriately) accountable.

It's actually HASBRO pushing the movie line. And for good reason: the movie hype sells the toys. Another big reason? TFs do not sell so well as to make retailers question Hasbro or disagree with the movie line in the front.

It's up to Hasbro to educate the retailer and actually study the sales data - retailers will seldom spend the extra money to see which action figure is the best. It's not their job. They sell hundreds of thousands of products.

But Hasbro has little interest in specific sales data - they're selling so many different products, they can just check the overall order numbers and then make broad stroke decisions (like always). Will the Kreo line continue? Let's check the overall sales! Make 30 more TF Hero Mashers? Let's check the sales. The big problem is that Hasbro is doing a piss-poor job of checking the gummy distribution problems and overall shelf homogeneity (i.e. do we need 3-5 different Optimus toys at the same time and nothing else?).
