Screw it. I let this one slide under my loot and chose to ship it separately.
i bet thier goldbug freaking rocks.
Kind of worried there is zero follow up info/pics on the next team members out yet. considering the lengthy delays on Aurora these Gvuys are becomming as slow as iGear.......I'd really like to get Wideload or whoever its going to be within this year.
I'm really curious and excited about Goldbug. I'm really hoping he's designed around the newest VW Beetle.
I wonder if these guys were always going to be combiners or if they figured the first 2 looked like they could turn into legs and then decided to make them combine...
thats what im thinking as well...hence the delay..IMO
had to cancel for now, will look into him later. Too many things hitting at once.
Guh. Darn BBTS getting this first! I ordered from Chimungmung back in January. Hopefully he gets it in relatively soon.
The little peg holes that I'm guessing is how the legs attach just doesn't seem the best way to peg together a biggish gestalt. Plus they have 0 ankle articulation. Also there have not been any designs shown for the next releases. So that leads me to believe the combining is just an afterthought and they are reengineering the others to be able to combine. Just my beliefs.
I hope these stay in stock for awhile or are replenished. I want to bite (I have Rollbar), things are just getting expensive right now.
They should make add on feet under the vehicle (similar to FP Colossus/Bruticus)
that have ankle tilts. It would also look much better as a TF combiner and less like Go-Bots Puzzler.
Who knows, maybe that's already their plan.
From the looks of that shadowy teaser pic of all the vehicle modes I think the new Beetle design is a safe bet.
Big fan of Aurora, he kinda reminds me of the beast era with the way he transforms, the head reveal, arm extension and folding the windshield onto the chest (reminds me of Cheetor). Fun figure, nice size compared to Car Crash, all round decent little toy. They just got away with opaque plastic painted black for the windshield but I usually prefer clear plastic.
Got mine from BBTS today, and it has a small defect - half of one of the shin vents on front is missing. The one in the pictorial review has the same defect, so it's likely widespread.
Not a huge deal, I'll just paint the part behind it white. I imagine a lot of other people will have a fit, though.
Just got mine today and it has the same problem with the vent. I think I'll try to match the grey behind it and paint the vents that color.
I think Aurora feels a little cheaper than Grindrod. I hope they go back to GR's plastic type for the next releases.
Man, Aurora is an amazing figure. Love the transformation. It's similar to Grind Rod's, but better implemented. Pretty much every nitpick I had with Grind Rod was fixed for this figure. The joints are much better and looser (pins now versus screws), and the toes actually articulate now. Better for posing. I kinda prefer the white and blue paint scheme than the green and grey, too. Highly recommend this figure.
Got pics? I've been looking at mine, and I'm not seeing anything missing, but I'm not sure I'm looking at the same thing you are.
All I've found is black paint where it shouldn't be...
Yours is fine.
Yeah, yours is fine. Mine has it though - it's on the left leg, the vent looking area between the black knee cap and that blue piece.
Just got my Aurora today... I'll need to check those paint issues.
