While it's not a deal-breaker for me, I do have to agree that the translucent red bits are the one unsavory element of this for me. Everything else is so slavishly close to the original that those parts are different enough and centered enough to really jump out at you. Aesthetically I think the colors work together and I'm 'fine' with it, but at the same time it does contribute an 'off' look.

Regardless, I am very much ready for this thing to enter my home.

 

Am I the only one who wants this but 24". Big enough to use Warden for the head.

 

Nope, if they upsize this and make it compatible with Warden, then I'm in.

 

I would totally buy an up-sized version of this as fort max if they retooled the two side bays and drive in bay to be more appropriate to scout/legend sized transformers and the original toy. My Grant was delivered today so I am going to check it out when i get home, but man from what ive seen a competitively priced upscale would be the shit.

 

I think MT may likely do Fortress if their other cities do well, probably after trypticon and scorponok.

TW picked the right size for me, I just hope they do the rest after this.

I'd love that, but I don't know how competitively they'd be able to price something that large. It obviously couldn't be cheaper than Takara's.

 

Nice idea but the price of this at original G1 size would be beyond ludicrous for a Third Party to offer. MT "may" get around to it one day but I doubt they will go much bigger than Utopia.

 

Too much cool stuff with limited funds is a real b*tch ain't it?

I'll repeat what I said earlier: he looks marvellous and I very much look forward to getting him, but I really wish he was a bit bigger. Five, maybe ten centimeters taller woud have looked a lot better.

He looks okay-ish with the FP headmasters, but too small and too thin with the TW headmasters -- the figures he's meant to go with.

 

For a classics representation I think he fits in ok. You also got to consider the headmasters size in relation to the rest of the figure. Toyworld I think wanted to keep the headmasters the same size as their previous releases, so they probably scaled the overall body to match the exsisting heads look/proportions.

 

The paint application makes this seem a much more finished product than grand. If I wind up keeping grade I might have to add some more decals or a touch of paint.

 

I am buying him to go with my FPj headmasters so he will do just fine.
