Like a lot of toys... the colors just photograph odd. Glad it's not that bright obnoxious green... hope it's close in color to the original Hardhead, though it looks like it'll be quite different.

 

The photos make the green far brighter than it really is. It is closer to a military green than anything.

 

Agreed, even with this guy being so much bigger, I don't fault the FP line at all for their size. The engineering in Code makes for a much cooler transformation, especially when compared to the H-tankiness of this H-tank.

 

Actually if you turn the head by the head itself and not the legs everything stays in place on mine.

And the faceplated head like the original toy and the two rifles AND the robot color scheme i.e. green core body and black limbs

The Code series does look great, I have X-1 on the way. BUT I believe Chromedome as a sports car and Hardhead as a tank in their current third part incarnations scale well. I'd hate to see a diminutive HardHead from FP.

I think FP's WeirdWolf and Brainstorm will equally scale well and that if ToyWorld can produce Snapdragon and ApeFace at HardHead scale we'll be spoiled overall.

 

It's just not... intuitive.

That saying, I actually like mine hugging his legs as he then looks forward in the cockpit rather than looking diagonally upwards. What's the big issue with how he sits in the cockpit anyway?

Despite his flaws (slightly loose joints, weird backside plate, floppy headmaster arms), Hardbone is super fun to play with! And that's all that matters.

 

I think my main problem with Hardbone is the simplistic transformation. I mean its an ok transformation. It gets the job done. But FP's Code transformation blew my socks off! I'm an engineering junky at heart and I've never seen a transformation like Codes. Hardbones I know I've seen many very similar. I'm still thinking about picking HB up, but I'm trying to wait and see if FP steps up. I'm kinda hoping the reason Codes box was so big was to have a uniform box size for the whole FX line and maybe they'll make a bit larger Hardhead... Oh and an Apeface and Snapdragon. One can only hope..

 

BBTS says early March for there preorder for this. I'm hoping for as soon as tomorrow, hehe.

 

That green - ouch. If this were under $100 I might bite, but it's too much as is.

 

That'd be cool, because I absolutely love my Code and I'm sure FP could make a hell of a Snapdragon and Apeface I feel the scale would be too small.

 

To avoid competition and lack of sales, i feel that toyworld and fansproject need to communicate with each other, (i have no idea if they already have or do on a reg base)
Surly both are aware of each others line, and potential sales would suffer if both end up releasing the same figure,
Maybe toyworld should stick to the larger characters (hardhead, ape and snap)
Where would this leave fort max and scorpie
