Well- if it’s a BAF, they have lost my business. I would have definitely bit on this cool looking figure otherwise. Never understood why/how collectors let companies (see Marvel, DC, Bandai) get away with the BAF model...

    Four arguments against that:

    1. Consider some of the current prices on eBay for BAFs:
BAF Thanos (2019, brand new): $82-130 (~4-6.5x single figure cost)
BAF Thanos (Infinity War): $49-100 (~2.5-5x single figure cost)
BAF Hobgoblin: $43-$60 (~2-3x single figure cost)
Applying those to a $70 figure rather than a $20 figure, we get anywhere from $140 to $455.

    2. Consider the "case assortments." Marvel BAF cases are usually a blend of comic-style and movie-style characters, with the BAF falling on one side or the other. Some of the people buying individual figures are not going to be interested at all in the BAF. Whereas in this case, I presume that the five figures and Starscream will all have the same (i.e., movie) aesthetic, and people who are interested in one figure of the assortment are going to be interested in the other four, and interested in the BAF. Put another way, all else being equal, if a given person is interested in five of the six figures, there is only a 17% chance that Starscream is the one they are not interested in and will try to sell. There is an 83% chance that it is one of the other five.

    3. Consider the case fulfillment. With a Marvel BAF, all of the figures will a BAF figure are out at the same time. How long does the average 3rd party manufacturer usually take to release five or six toys?

    4. Consider the rarity. These are not mass-produced toys with wide distribution. Will they actually bring out all five in sufficient quantities, or will poor sales on the first or the second cause them to release smaller quantities of the rest? Or cancel some all together?

Granted, there are some caveats to my arguments. For example, the market certainly would not bear $455 for this figure...unless someone waits and then decides they really want Starscream...but supplies of the first figure have dried up. Scalping wouldn't work unless someone out there was willing to pay ridiculous prices.

And how many people willing to price fairly are also willing to spend $350 for the five figures over an extended period of time and then sell Starscream when he is complete? And what is "fair"? Is it $70, which is the same as the cost for another figure? Is it $60, because he's smaller? (Is he smaller? I thought someone mentioned that. I could be wrong.) Is it $105 (50% above a single figure), because they had to make the initial investment, and wait for all five to come out, before selling? Is it $140 (100% above a single figure), because he is also a really popular design?

I'm not trying to claim the sky is falling; I'm only trying to suggest the firmament is not guaranteed to be as firm as we would hope.

considering early reveiws of bulldog came with a box and foam and all, yet had no space for a starscream leg (i think thats the part people said he was supposed to come with was) shows they might have reconsidered the idea. so i'll just wait it out instead of purely speculating.

Unfortunately, it's not even remotely true, in fact, about the only part of it that holds any truth was that Bader was a pilot, and a Fokker was an aircraft, but not even a German one.

There were plenty of German Fokkers though. Just as right now there are Belgian, Dutch, Norwegian, Pakistani, and Israeli F-16's.

Fokkers may be Dutch in origin, but a warplane's nationality is "whoever its fighting for".

Swastika and iron cross are two completely different symbols. Plus, correct me if iI\'wronh, but the iron cross is STILL used germanies armed forces today.

Edit: looks like they still use a variation of it, yep.

That's why I posted a pic of present-day German fighter planes using it: Toyworld TW-FS06 WWI Starscream

Of all countries, Germany of course has the strictest laws against displaying anything related to nazi symbolism. Yet the iron cross is painted on all their current fighter planes. That should be proof enough for people.

But---anyone need more proof? It's also on "The German Air Force One"-----anyone think Merkel would fly in to a world summit or UN meeting with anything "unsavory" on her plane?

He looks spot on to what we've seen of his photo in TLK. Wasn't expecting him to have a Blitzwing head though but it does help giving you the option to have him be a different character from the existing SS Starscream.

Also I've been hearing about the BAF argument in the thread. Is TW doing a BAF wave with their movie figures and if so who's the BAF gonna be? Blitzwing if Starscream's anything to go by?

Starscream is what toy world said would be the BAF, but recent reviews of their bulldog didn't come with any starscream parts in the box, so its not really clear whether they are are aren't going with the idea.

Oh. So if that's the case then is it possible that the BAF could be like I've mentioned before Blitzwing? I mean I can't see a reason to include it aside from a fun nod/option to make into a different character otherwise.

nope. That head was just a bonus for Starscream. it was made before the official announcement that it was a different character, so they made it an optional head for screamer.

    Looks cool.

But I'm trying to determine the possible alt-mode.

Is that an actual WW2 aircraft, some fictional hybrid, like Powerdive and Highbrow?

Also, back on topic, I like how 'Starscream' is turning out so far.
Hope it not actually a build-a-figure.

Never thought I'd be shamed for not knowing German military history on a forum about toys but here we are. Unfollowing this mess of a thread. Especially since this figure is a BAF.
