Not gonna lie I'm not a big fan of the cheap prototype-looking grey. I hope he's still half-painted.

Otherwise, holy shit he's so fucking cool!

This is where Toyworld blew it. They said f**k scale. They ignored the "jet" in the name Jetfire even though they had dozens of WW1 bombers to choose from. They basically are making up s**t now. I just recently bought Bulldog and outside of him being a bit too fiddly, I love him. I wasnt planning to buy the Bee and Hot Rod but I do want tjat starscream. I hope they decide to release it in normal colors because the BAF concept doesnt work here. These arent $19.99 walmart figures. Although I might be tempted to buy the red baron seeker and just say he is Starscream since the TLK photo was in black and white and you cant prove he wasnt red. The ego of the Red Baron fits Starscream's persona perfect and technically all pre-Bayverse Starscreams had red or Orange as their secondary color. But f**k this boat. Toyworld is reaching too hard.

looks really cool. wish it weren't "jetfire" and i wonder what "scale" this is. a warship is massive so this would be way cooler (but probably wouldn't sell) if this was like close to titan sized.

Jetfire was a battleship in the Sector 7 comics. Toyworld hasn't made up anything, aside from the fact that Jetfire was supposedly only part of the USS Maine, which would still make him out of scale with his size in the film. Though that last detail comes afterwards from John Barber. The art makes it look like he's the whole ship, and it doesn't really make sense why or how he'd disguise himself as only a portion of the boat, or what happened to the part he scanned. Toyworld is approaching it more logically/practically, and just making Jetfire the whole ship, scale and logic be damned because the comic didn't really care.

You flew off the handle before even doing the tiniest amount of research. It's even been mentioned in this very thread that Jetfire was a battleship in the comics. (he's been many things, the battleship is just one of the alt modes we saw)

The only thing Toyworld took real liberties with, aside from the aforementioned detail about just how much of the ship was Jetfire, is they made the design in line with his final movie model, whereas the comic used a... stylistic take on his early, mouthless design that wasn't really in line with anything:

What an incredibly unique toy! Love it. Based on a really underrated movieverse comic too.

This guy turned out well. And I really dig the rusted out deco work, it\'s like loose take on if he never scanned an SR-71.
In fact,  I think I like him better in this mode. Screw the jet prime thing.  I\'m cool with a Tidal Wave size, a creaky old soldier.

Personally, I think the fact that Jetfire is great as a battleship. I mean, we need a lot more ship/battleship/boat-based Transformers. They are a minority when it comes to Transformers. Seriously, when the list of popular Earth vehicle alternate modes does not include a single ship, you know they are lacking water-based alternate modes.

We've been over this when the proto was first shown - it's HMS Warspite with some odd liberties and mashups between it's original fit (mostly in retaining the tripod) and it's 30s rebuild (with the replacement bridge tower squashed) and a second stack.

honestly, that's a pretty good fit for the character...not name-wise with the boat mode, but a creaky old sailing vessel, sure thing...

Erm, that's not a jet, and wrong world war. Though there are jets from that world war.

He can be a WWII jet, just not a WWI jet.

I think someone earlier mentioned the SMS König Dreadnought as it's model. I bring not to argue but hoping those who know ships can clarify.

Both. Starscream, Bulldog, and Jetfire are WWI. Bumblebee, Hot Rod, and Barricade are WWII.
