That's actually how the designers described it.

Except it's actually more of a side grade. The truck mode is a dumpster fire in comparison to Studio Series. The back of the truck in SS cleans up well, from the back of the cab to the folded up feet. It has weapon storage that fits underneath that is practically invisible. And no bunny ears either, which are an eyesore no matter what angle you see the MP version.

Got my deluxe in. Wow the weight is amazing. My only qualm is the weak lights in the base. Does anyone think they could be changed out for stronger bulbs?

He pretty directly implies that he threw it or deliberately further broke it because he said that it experienced multiple breaks during transformation and he “was over it” and “was not even sorry because that felt so good to do.”

Anyone aware of any stores that currently have this figure in stock/incoming? Would love having this + MT-01 Megatron side by side.

I found this on my local shop for $155 for the deluxe version, should I buy it? A bit skeptical due to the QC issues but it just looks so damn good. I can imagine it looking perfect next to my TC Bee.

I’d buy it if it’s sealed. I know some shops will buy and resell and if they don’t know any better they may have another mans trash on their hands. If sealed then you roll the same dice majority of us did. I lucked up and mine is good with the exception of a slightly loose knee.

Yeah if it's sealed you'd be crazy not to buy it. Or let me know where it is and I'll come buy it lol

It’s been a while and I was pretty QC free. The other fellows in this thread will know better.

    - his wrists are very floppy. Someone decided to give him a sh1tload of weapons and accessories but put his fists on the tiniest ball joints so he has trouble holding any of them... Prepare a lot of kiki/super glue/nail or floor polish to tighten them.
    - the chest design utterly sucks. It falls down and has trouble staying together. I believe someone on this board came with a fix/solution but I can't remember now :p  Still, very annoying
    - some joints may be too loose because he has friction joints only and have to be tightened as well (mostly the arms but aslo the mouthplate)
    - The transformation is very bad. It's not even that complex (the legs are literally on some studio series level of engineering) the tolerances are just bad. Luckily he's rather durable and solid so little chances of breaking anything :)
I only own the standard edition but afaik qc wise they're the same

The "fix" I recall was basically using the front grill to prop up his chest. I could never get it to work myself, but others evidently had better luck. I also recall at least one person using a chunk of craft foam in there (instead of the grill) to the same effect.

Studying it after I got mine, it looks like the outer edge of the A-pillars (the pillars beside the windscreen) are meant to rest on the raised hinges on the panels attached to the front wheels. That's how it ships, and it stays pretty well together while it's like that. However, for reasons I cannot even begin to fathom, those parts - and the superfluous sun visors - are hinged which, because the chest angles outward, lets (and even encourages) the tiny little stalks slide off and the whole thing collapses. A small indent to locate it would have helped (it would be on the back of the panels that get exposed in truck mode), as would locking the visor piece in place (something I'm considering doing to mine), but that wasn't to be.

Pretty much agree with everything you said, though, with one important caveat: the instructions are quite possibly the worst in the history of ever, challenged only by Knight Orion. And I'm even including times when figures shipped with entirely the wrong instructions (like, say, a transformer with a cup-noodle booklet).

And for the life of me I can't get this thing on. His back is hunched not allowing the adapter to go on. The metal neck support won't go flat. Any suggestions? Never transformed him

The best I can say is to open up the chest and try to move it around to flatten it. After transforming mine and locking the chest it would sit flat and went in easily.
