That's weird. Perhaps they were selling someone else's stuff?

I live in CA by the way, bought a number of times over the years from TFSource, usually only when they have a REALLY good deal. Never once had I gotten something from them from CA.

I cancelled my preorder for the deluxe version a few months back, for family-budget reasons and, well, that 27-foot back-end in truck mode where they got lazy in the legs just bothered me.

But it's just as well, because with the price roller coaster (set by the manufacturer and not so much the distributor) I would not have been able to afford it anyway.

Luckilly, the Aoyi Mech SS-38 Redux looks interesting enough. Not as pretty as TW but for a fraction of the cost I think that will be the route I take.

Guess it was just a fluke. There's a small chance I'm misremembering but I'm pretty sure that's what happened. Anyways I've only ordered from them twice and I remember how long it took and their prices aren't great anyways so I gave up on them.

For some reason I'm not seeing all these price increases on ShowZ that everyone else is seeing. The price is still the same as when I preordered ages ago and the remaining balance on my order is unchanged too.

They honor your preorder prices in most cases, so it'll remain the same for you and others that preordered. If you search him up, however, you'll see it indeed has increased.

Not sure why people are bitching about prices here. Stop being a bunch of fence sitters for months and months and make a freaking decision. Showstore has a 2 dollar pre order that you can just bail on at any time.... 2 fucking dollars!

Really? I had a situation with Firebird Nicee-Arcee when there was a short gap when the figure was for 76$ until they raised to price to 86$ but they told me they'll respect my old price if I paid the pre-order already.

I think there are a lot of people in here who are new to 3P stuff, since this design is so popular and word has gotten around. For the size, the features, and the premium paint job this figure is priced very reasonably for a 3rd party figure. But compared to MPMs for instance he is expensive. Plus everyone's confused since there is so much misinformation being posted (over and freakin over again) so some people think it's a $250 figure or something. To me if it goes up or down $10 it doesn't make a difference at this price but some people are annoyed. But showz will honor preorder pricing so for those of us who actually made a decision and paid in advance we're good.

their policy is that they generally honor the price if it isn't too sharply different. The only times they don't is if it was insanely lower, or the company (like dx9 and xtb) pressure them into making the price higher for those who ordered. I'm guessing that guy happened to have one of those instances happen to em so he's retaliating against them.

I'm in the US and my pay off amount for my preorder is still the same as it was before the price increase. Gotta give ShowZ credit for that - I had a similar thing happen with TF-Direct and they only honor the original price if you've paid the full balance before the price increase.

Hahahaha! *breathes* Ahahahahaha!! You serious? Well tell you what: I'll get you one and sell it to you for $500. That shouldn't be a problem since you're such a high end Transformer collector who never complains about price right?

Not sure why people are bitching about the people who don't like price increases. Just take your own advice and reap the rewards rather than being so fucking condescending. There are a myriad of reasons not to preorder: stop trying to act all high and mighty because this one time it worked out to your advantage.

I agree with most of what you said, except this. There really is no reason not to simply spend 2 bucks other than not wanting to spend a measly $2. You can cancel the order and any time, so no reasons other than that really. (At least through showz which is what he was talking about)

That's fair and that's why I pre-ordered when I normally wouldn't have. But still, even that small amount has the psychological effect of tying you down to a specific retailer so that you lose your other options. There's also the possibility that they go out of business. It's only $2 down the drain but that's still money lost and nobody really expected this much of a price hike. It went up.... wait... it only went up $15 and people are talking about abandoning ship? I had assumed it had gone up more since the US retailers were charging $250 and everybody was saying ShowZ raised their price because of the US retailers. I mean it's more than the prices usually fluctuate (usually it's around $10) but it's not that much.

Yeah idk, it’s not that bad. They honored my earlier preorder btw. Don’t tell the retailers.

I am so close to PO this from Baba's site. I can get $15 off but there are so many BB movie style Prime coming out it's hard to decide even though this looks awesome.

I just had an item shipped from PA. They used to be in MN, which where I thought their warehouse is, even when they moved so not sure if they have distribution centers on both sides of the country now (CA and PA) and a main headquarters in NV??

I collect all sorts of things but no i have never complained about the price of toy I want. I can either afford it, justify it, or do neither of those and don't buy it.

I'm specifically calling out higher end toys and legends toys because it's those threads where the complaints are the most baffling. And by baffling I mean eye-rolling.

I agree with you 100%. The prices have actually turned me away from many purchases myself. I still gotta pay my university school fees, afterall. Budgeting is a fine line to balance, and very often, I have had to control my urges.
Personally, I don't have many responsibilities in life. And in my eye, collecting is the best thing I can do to stay happy. Opening a box and pulling out a new figure is the best feeling ever. But if the price isn't right, I just can't swallow it. I can't afford to be in a deficit before I graduate. If the time calls for it, we have to improvise and make compromises.
In fact, I am considering selling my freedom leader as we speak(my seller doesn't allow preorder cancellation, but he is a really reasonable guy). And as you may have noticed, I have no valuable input about '3p pricings'. In the name of respect, some words are just better left unsaid

Bobby Skullface had an interview with Hung Ngo that detailes hows the large stores throw their weight around and how they target smaller sellers. Showz has a very large presence in the community and when they are drastically cheaper its going to piss off the big boys who will then lean on the manufactures to either not do busineas with places like showz or get them to raise their prices.

I shop a lot on taobao and showz and often times you are paying barely any mark up from the Chinese prices . Not always though but enough times to know that on the balance showz is not marking up as much as they can. Freedom leader may have gone up but its still south of $200. Way cheaper than TCP and TFsource.

Someone should write a 20 page document documenting all the times larger retailers like them have bullied the others into raising their prices and somehow get a lot of attention around it. Would be fun to watch the sites with shit prices burn.

Maybe my comment wasn't fair at all because I was angry at that moment. When I bought Black Apple prime at 75$ they send me that the price wasn't that and If I wanted to pay 100$ or cancell it, but now I remember that was a mistake of a new employee.

I apologize if my comments bothered to someone, but I hope that you understand the situation that not everyone likes the increased prices.

I am the first person who wants to buy the ToyWorld but not right now, and I feel that the more time it passes, more expensive turns the
figure. For mi is not normal that.

I collect Hot Toys for example, and they are a VERY EXPENSIVE AND WEAK figures, if I love Transformers figures is because they are cheap and very "touchable", I don't want another "high end figures" that breaks only staring at them. I think ToyWorld Optimus will be another "stare at me but don't touch me".
