But the $30 SS-38 has a more complex leg transformation than this $150 collectible.

But that $150 price point promised me a high quality figure, not a figure that has half of it beat by a $30 figure.

I'm not gonna lie, this type of thinking really bothers me. "A more complex transformation" SS-38 does a few flips and turns yes. But is the final leg entirely accurate? No, because the aesthetic is different. Hasbros offering is first and foremost a toy. And it shows.

Nobody has seen the transformation of this thing yet so how can we even judge the complexity of it at all? Let alone compare it to something else entirely

 

I bet the leg transformation is quite simple, We can see more or less how it is going to work.

 

Think I'll wait for a better alt mode version by black mamba or others. This is better 'cause there will be one more to buy for you!

You can clearly see the crotch where it's supposed to be, the thighs most likely colapse into the shins, part of the calves armor shift from the back to the side to fill up the truck bed, quite similar to MP-10. Obviously there should be more than that, but nothing spectacular. The cab is another story, maybe some UT's kind of black magic is going on there.

On the other hand, their Knight OP is waaaay more complex than this one by a lot.

 

I mean, thats most primes really, especially when adding the "more than that" part....

 

I pretty much said the most important parts, obviously "more than that" refers to minor things.

And movie Primes do not transform like most Primes! Just this one.

 

Upon close analysis, the only "more than that" would really be the wheel wells pulling out slightly and rotating so the wheels stick forward of the leg and the panels on the "inward" side (as in 'not front, back, or outside') fold upwards, then back down over themselves. Doesn't look like the thighs actually even collapse, so really it's just 7 steps for one leg, including the toes.

They are nice legs though.

I don't believe so, no. At least not that was ever shown, no. But honestly, it doesn't matter to me at this point, at least in this case.

 

hope TW is reading and listening and do some improvement on the figure.

Dec is a long way off and many can change, I wouldn't draw a conclusion until the good is out. It has already changed from grey concept to the coloured version, it CAN have further improvement until it's release schedule in Q4 '19 <hopefully>.

 

Eh easy mistake to make. Somebody kept bringing up the Black Apple MPM4 here and the video was of that. No specs or video of the TW transformation yet sadly.
