IMO Hegemon is too big for classics. These two deserve their own shelf with Hercules thrown in.

i think he looks good. the only thing throwing off the classics collection is the deluxe sized seekers, astrotrain, and octane. all need to be voyager at least. autobot side looks right to me for the most part.

My thoughts exactly. TFC may give us Voyager-sized Seekers using their Uranos Eagle mold so there's always that hope. Generations Blitzwing and FoC Soundwave fit in fairly nicely too. Astrotrain and Octane need to be updated to the larger size point though.

I might be interested in Prime. He looks pretty good, but I really hope they tweak that head.

Hmmm, I have mine displayed with FOC Soundwave and the MMC Seekers, yellow Giant, the G1 Takara Insecticon reissues, Gen Ravage, G1 Buzzsaw and United Frumble. It looks fucking awesome.

Share the awsomeness and give us a pic.

I use MMC seekers too with Hegemon with hercules, PE Fumble, G1 lazerbeak, MP Buzsaw.

I have gen ravage and FOC Soundwave still in his box. These guys are too ugly and will be given away.

Just to stay on topic, TW prime will be perfect for classics.
Henkei Prime is too small...he will join Rager.

I'm not feeling the head, and that wind scoop thing will be going first thing. He otherwise looks awesome. I wonder if they'll have an alternate head available with the toy--otherwise I'm going to have to find a better one if I end up getting him (which is likely).

I could easily derail this thread, so I won't, but I will try and get some pics up in the Cool 3rd Party Stuff thread soon.

While I agree with a lot of the criticism aimed at this guy, I have to say it's a damn fine representation of a difficult design to translate into toy form.
Truck mode is spot on. Robot chest is iffy, maybe colour will help, and yeah.. the head. Longer, angled antennae would help, but I like the overall sculpt. Just needs a few more curves to it.
Overall it's a win for me. Little Wig is going to inherit MP10 at this rate.

Don Figueroa, coming from a background of home-made Transformers and kitbashing, always designs his characters with physical possibility in mind. They could have managed this far better. I still say it butchers everything that makes Don's design desirable.

TW-02 looks a lot better in color.

I tried to match up the IDW colors as close as possible there, with just a few tweaks that I thought looked better.

I haven't read much of the IDW stuff, so I'm not hung up on accuracy for the actual mold, (I completely understand the issue for those that are, though. I know that feel, bro.) and I just see a kickass looking Optimus. It does all the stuff I want in a Classics Optimus that the official version doesn't, like being mostly kibble free, looking burly instead of lanky, and actually having room for a lower jaw beneath the faceplate.

Sure, the IDW head would be cool on this, but the body also doesn't match the IDW design when it comes to all the little greebils that make that version look complex. Would a more accurate head look better, or would those of you wanting more accuracy be bothered by the body even more?

For me, TW-02 is exactly what I want in a Classics Optimus.

Wait, no. Exactly what I want in a Classics Optimus would be a $20 Voyager from Hasbro that does things even better than this. :lol  But even if that happens after I've bought this, my jimmies will remain unrustled.

Looks good. Nice coloring. Still, I'm kinda hoping that the blues are a bit darker in the final version to match up with FP's G3 trailer (and that this figure is able to connect to it via a turning hitch). Hey, I can hope, eh? XD

I'm not getting the comments about Classics Prime being "dated". He may be lacking stuff like the slightly open hands most TFs have nowadays, but apart from that I think he still feels modern. And yeah, the kibble on his arms is a bit clunky. But just pretend it's shields and it works fine. :)

I always thought that IDW Prime was quite heavily influenced by Classics Prime anyway. Although looking at them side-by-side I do see that there are more differences than I thought. Still, with Prime getting a release this year in the Prime series, as well as there being an Orion Pax figure, I think Hasbro releasing another Voyager Prime would be a bit much for them. Also, (and I'm just about to start reading "Chaos" on the regular series so please don't spoil me), most Transformers got a redesign when the series when to RID and MTMTE, right? So if Hasbro did release an IDW Prime figure, it might not even be relevent for the current comics. Of course, they're doing IDW Bumblebee and I'm fairly certain he's currenty sporting a War for Cybertron body...

Nope, still terrible. Good try, though. Colors are good.

    Completely agreed.

I cannot wait for the Optimus to be released, classics Prime needs to be replaced badly. The only thing I can see Toyworld needing to fix is the head. Thanks Toyworld for all the awesome figures you have been supplying.

Love the Optimus, don't know anything about IDW, don't care. It looks very Teutonic, like a truck Mercedes Benz would design.

The big question for me is whether BBTS will be getting this guy or not.

I really doubt BBTS will take this on, just like they didn't carry Hegemon. They look just to close to the source material.

Nah, I had no interest in Hegemon so I never checked the thread for him although I did know that BBTS never carried him.

That's why I'm curious as to whether or not they'll carry this version of Prime or not. Logic tells me no but stranger things have happened.
