I'd buy that without hesitation. Still not perfect, but a huge improvement.

 

I actually don't have a problem with the current head (it's a bit rounder than usual, and it could look better, but it doesn't bother me), but what I'd suggest to all the people that have that as their main complaint about it is to tell ToyWorld. Hop on their facebook page and voice your opinion, or send them an email at [email protected].

While you're at it, tell them you want it colored like mine.  

Their website makes it look like the release date is in August. That might not be enough time for them to retool the head, but it might be.

And even if they don't do anything about it, there's Radicons that do custom casts of heads, or even other third parties.

I don't have the 3rd party Megatron but I would pick this up the truck mode looks good. I'm a sucker for the G1 box truck cabs.

 

Is there a chance they'll re-release Hegemon?

The digibash sure made it better. It needs a bigger crest and antennae. The chest looks like it could hold a nice little matrix!

This is why third-parties frown on digibashing. Intentional or not, it spreads disinformation.

This is even more disingenuous. I'm sure some Chinese site will (intentionally or otherwise) use your new image to further obfuscate the issue...  

Frankly, I think this practice needs to stop. There are too many unscrupulous people out there meaning to mislead, and far too many ignorant people to be misled... and every time a problem like this occurs, it becomes less likely third-parties will show us prototypes and test shots.

It's just not worth the risk, guys.

You forgot the best part.

 

Third parties won't stop showing prototypes. It's part of their business model. They need to build hype, and if they're not gauging fan reaction on TF message boards, they're only hurting themselves.

The only people genuinely being duped by this are people that don't know what "Color Digibash by MattBooker.info" means. So, the news staff at Tformers.com.  

If anything, these kind of things make me want to buy 3rd party products even more than just seeing a flat prototype. Gray on gray doesn't exactly make details pop.

If the colors on TW-02 turn out even halfway as good as the ones in my digibash, it'll still be cool.

If someone makes a better head for this, well, then people like grimlockgravez will already be interested because they already know how much it can improve the base body.

I do, however, think that fan digibashes need to be signed as such on the image. I made this image to encourage people to buy something that I genuinely think is cool.

it's not like hasbro to ever pass an opportunity to milk optimus for all he's worth

then again... since idw design gets less exposure to younger audiences it might be more worth their time to simply milk beast hunters optimus instead and let idw fans play in the dirt with a legion class and deluxe orion pax figure

I guess it's all down to how hasbro feels the market winds are blowing, and, who knows, maybe these idw design figures they've been releasing is a test run to see how much they could potentially market an idw optimus

 

I asked Sidecutter on Facebook if Captured Prey was going to carry TW-02.

After the Hardbone debacle, I was expecting that to be his answer.

I've never ordered from there but daimchoc suggested getting Hegemon there.

Can't wait for TW-02. MP-10 is just a place holder for this guy 

 

If I'm wrong about this, please, please correct me on it, but the jist of what I vaguely remember about 3rdpartystore.com is, "They're great! As long as you don't have to exchange a broken product."

I've never ordered from them, but I know they're run by ToyWorld. So far, they're the ones I'm going to order TW-02 from, provided no one makes a better suggestion.
