I preordered these two so freakin hard. 

 

October for Trace?! Really? Wow. I might as well add it to the list of preorders and forget it even existed and just be happy when I get the 'added to loot' email.

 

Gonna be a long time before this team gets finished up.

I'm getting brainstorm and trace.
want ALL the throttlebots, yesterday!  
and i like the big headmasters. though i like fansprojects too. guess i'll get both. toyworld will most likely have a more accurate paint scheme, while fansproject tends to be hit or miss on that. so they may pass as different figures.

 

I was such a fan until I saw that hot mess of an alt mode pic at bbts for brainy

In bot mode he trumps smart robin for recognition, and thankfully has the faceplate but vehicle mode.....hot mess.....why does he look like a junked x wing? Is that pic of him mis transformed?

 

I doubt it. BBTS dealt with Megatron in his gun form before. In Legends Class, G1 (and the reissues) and Masterpiece. The only thing I can think of that keeps them from selling these is the fact that these rip off Hasbro's property so much. I mean, all you have to do is look at these two figures and you can instantly tell who and what they are. Odd names or not.

The Headmasters they've been working on are drastic redesigns of the originals and more of an homage than a direct reproduction of what came before. Plus, all the 3rd parties made attachments to enhance an Optimus or a Megatron. Never before did they actually produce one.

Toyworld broke the mold when they produced Hegemon. That was a big "FU" to Hasbro. One which I gladly bought.   I'll do so again with their Optimus, or whatever they plan on calling him.

I'm pretty sure BBTS was told "Howzabout you don't sell 'em? MMMkay? Alright then." Like the sponsor ad says at the top of the screen, direct account with Hasbro. Joel's into getting the dough, but he's not stupid. Don't bite the hand that feeds you... too badly.

 

Pre-Ordered Trace (Chase) super quick can't wait. Still disappointed they aren't making Wide Load a dump truck. At least that's what the images show. Also kind of hope that if they make a VW Beetle they go with the latest model and DON'T make it Gold Bug, I'd rather have a Glyph or TapOut take the place of GB. (Just me though)

As for Brainwave. Totally not going withe X-Wing fighter transformer, "Brainstorm". The FansProject figure is just better and way closer to the G1 modes. This TW version will totally get a repaint into Luke Skywalker and his X-Wing.

 

Lol I'm definitely sticking to FP's headmasters now.

 

I am loving OP neck down. His head is eh I want more Optimus out of it. I may have to pass but if that head sculpt gets reworked a little bit then I am down.

 

These look REALLY nice, but I'm not sure if I need two Brainstorms. Then again, I have both Code and Hardbone, so...... If only it was Highbrow instead, but maybe I'll have to double-dip on Brainstorm after all.

 

My issue is one company has a better head sculpt and more accurate body, the other a far superior alt mode

Hopefully I can finally retire Classics Op. The arm-kibble on that still raises my hackles after all this time and this version -as long as the size is right- will work fine with my Hegemon.

 

My thoughts too. Dang, I really liked the look of the bot, and the scale... too bad. The thing is, this means I now have less incentive to get Hardbone. So unless they pull something spectacular out of the bag for Highbrow and Chromedome I think this alt mode just put me off their Headmasters altogether  

 

im on the fence for brainstorm. I have smart robin preordered, but if I thought this one was good enough id just go for it anyway. the jet mode is pretty craptastic. I love the head though...

 

TW-02 looks a lot better in color.
