Toyworld's Dinobots are now in a set at BBTS. The set is $400 and is a limited metallic paint version.

Now those look cool.

 

They look awesome all together, and the paint job and details on them are impressive.

 

I pre-ordered instantly. I held off on these guys (except Grimshell). Glad I waited, they look great

 

How big is this set? I remember when it first came out, but don't remember sizes. Is it about the same size as, say, Gravity Builder and the Warbo combiners?

 

A bit bigger than Unique Toys Ordin and mmc Feral Rex with legs fully extended. I don't know the exact size

 

My personal preference is for the chrome so I'm happy enough with the original versions as my classics Dinobots. Can't tell from the pictures but if Toyworld had made some improvements like an extra cartoon colored red head for Dreg/Slag (inexplicably given to their Diacone colored version, which should have been blue) or better swords for Roar/Snarl and Muddy/Sludge (don't care about alt mode storage just want some sizable swords) and Iron Dreg (he only got these hatchets not a G1-esque sword like his fellow dinos) then I'm interested! Maybe some solid guns without the translucent plastic barrels as well.

I wonder what color is Spear's chest, toy accurate red or animation/Diaclone blue?

 

While I won't be getting this, I am happy to see a version of the Dinobots that aren't, as far as I can tell, smothered in chrome. I've always preferred a metallic paint or plastic over Chrome, and it looks like this set delivers.

 

I'd love for those add-ons though I don't think we will get any. I also understand why people like the chrome, it practically screams Dinobots with toys. Just makes them not really match the rest of my collection.

I'm 90% sure swoop is blue. You can just see a little bit of the body in his solo pic

 

Yeah but dreg/slag looks to have a blue body there, which seems odd.

Gigapower color scheme, sort of. I'd like to see pictures of the combined mode, it should look good without too much bling...

Maybe i can sell Grimlock and recoup $80. Dinobots don't combine to me.

 

Ah crap, the more I look the more it appears Slag is blue and Swoop is red. Shame

 

It's still about $150 cheaper than buying them Individually.

 

I'm still gonna be getting the set. It's just a bit of an odd choice

 

I preordered. I'll probably wuss out and cancel. I'm compelled to finish off my MP Dinos and these scale well enough with MP Grim.

 

I think the chrome looks better, this set has a lot of design influence from the original G1 toys, which also had the chrome.

Maybe these will look better 10+ years from now vs. the chrome so who knows?

 

About the same size as Gravity Builder. I'll try to post a pick later. The limbs are a little taller than an mp car, and Grimshell is a little shorter than MP-08.

 

Thanks! I always liked the look of the initial protos, but I kind of forgot about it, and this would be a great time to get in. Just want to make sure it would fit in my collection somewhere, haha.
