tfsource have the green thighs instock cheap on ebay and their site just a shame the shipping kills the price , nearly £22 for shipping to the uk   but good if your in the usa and still need them

if anyone has a full green upgrade kit they would sell please give me a shout , would be happy with just the g1 head ( any g1 head from any repaint would do )

( will keep asking until i get it :lol  )

doh yeah its the yellow was looking on my phone a mo ago and didn't read the text:lol

well prompted me to take one of the thigh panels off my v1 to see if it's green plastic like someone else had under the paint on a later version ( can't remember who ) but nope it's grey plastic such a shame , checked the inside of the panel :)

forgot how unstable my v1 is sooo wobbly !! was one of the unlucky ones for that , even the shoulder ratchets are shit ! can hold the gun up but the slightest knock and the arm drops down :(  just as well it's in a sealed custom built cabinet which is solid :lol

I wonder if he's going to be uniform orange, or more varied like the diaclone (g2 = yellow, diaclone = orange).

Good question, from the couple of pics he looks uniform but who knows until someone gets one in hand.

I will say the way you view the OG is the same way I view the orange. Ewww. Haha. It’s not for me, but there are some that like it. That is all that matters. :p

Junk, i think i didn’t explain what i meant: you said ToyWorld used the old molds for the orange Construcotr, but the two images we can see are old, they are not up to date. The orange Devastator is coming out now, that’s why i think they made it using the newest molds.

And we can say the same for Old Green: the prototype was green (not yellow, yet:rolleyes: ) and they made it using the old molds. But when it came out a few months ago it had new tracks desing, new barrel and so on.

    Sorry for the misunderstanding

Pretty sure the orange version is still meant to be the G2 Orange Devastator and not a Diaclone set.

Sorry for having to ask, but I was toying with the idea of buying a Constructor, but there seem to be a fair few versions to choose from. I was eyeing the perfect unpainted edition, but noticed it comes with silver thighs. Is there a version that has green thighs out there? Also, is the perfect version worth the extra cash any way?

Assuming you want green, not black, yellow etc.

V1 - 'toy version' with silver thighs (on grey plastic), studio ox head
V2 - toy, green plastic thighs, additional G1 toon head
Metallic - V2 but with shiny purple bits, including windows etc.
Perfect Edition - 'toon version' with silver thighs (painted over green plastic)
Cel - cel shaded painted version
Old Green - aged painted version, more yellow than green in some opinions

The ones you're looking at need some further commentary. V1 and V2 are the same thing save that the add on toon head is included, except for the thighs. So far as I know anyway. Possibly the purple barrel on Mixmaster?

I believe that some improvements were incorporated into the Metallic version, and those were carried through to the Perfect Edition. Don't ask me why the PE has silver thighs :banghead:

The aesthetic difference between v1/2 an PE is the purple. It's darker on the earlier versions.

Fyi, with some isopropyl alcohol at 90%+, you can strip the silver thighs on PE. It's the same green plastic underneath. Some folks found that a doddle, mine was a pain and up close the thighs are scratched.

I don't know about earlier versions but I think all the recent versions come with the silver thighs. I've seen thigh fillers that are green but they seem pretty hard to find. I have the perfect edition, I'd say its the best Devi out there if you don't mind it being not totally G1 accurate. When you break the cost down per figure it's not a bad price.

I'm still waiting for a version that's toon accurate as that's how I'm building my collection, but the perfect edition is a really good stand in.

Yeah, I should point out that the mould is very much of the older mixed style, not toon aesthetic like MP44 etc. It's just the PE purple is coloured to toon accurate so it's the toon version of Constructor. Except the fucking silver thighs.......and green thighs are a bitch to find, too. Toyworld, make some more goddamn you!

Thanks for that summary, greatly appreciated. :D

Looks like I'm aiming for a V2 with the green thighs. I don't have the best luck when it comes to modding/customizing, so that's the perfect edition out. Silver thighs on Devastator? Not on my watch.

Yep V2 is the best so far IMHO. I bought some strong vinegar from Homedepot that is 30% and I am going to strip the silver thighs. Hope it works. I will say that when I was stripping old paint off of metal hinges on my doors I boiled regular strength vinegar that you use for cooking and dunked the metal parts in there and the paint was super easy to remove. Might tinker with that too. I cannot confirm on plastic usage yet. Good luck and have fun with your first ever!!

The Only available retail one right now with green thighs is cel shaded with painted Green thighs. Everything else is Gray thighs. Old green, X. I was to afraid to buy the X and strip the paint.

I do see the occasional V2 green thighs come up on FB groups like Cybertron Cafe or Transformers Addicts or TF Masterpiece groups for $350-400$
I had the V2 with green thighs and liked it but think Cel Shaded with the paint just looks so much more impressive.

So how do you remove the transparent plate on Constructor's chest that covers the spot where the decepticon logo is supposed to go?

Yeah, I'm curious about this too, I have a symbol but I haven't bothered to try to open it up yet.

I think Emgo shows or says how to remove the panel in his video for Constructor. I think it involves unscrewing the back and then pushing out the tabs for the plate. I was able to do this for Bonecrusher's chest plate.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's this. My copy didn't have any trouble removing the combined mode chest plate for a faction symbol, but Bonecrusher's is a different story. Mine will not budge at all. :(

Here's the perfect edition with the silver paint stripped.
