Be funny to see them do this, i remember getting a set from a convenient store.
Personally I think it's ugly but if someone has a Digi Bash it'd be interesting to see
If I'm reading all the right, diaclone for Devastator means it will be multi colored? I am not feeling it, but then again, when these third party companies get a hold of something I sometimes can have a tendency to change my mind!
Diaclone simply refers to those figures that existed before Transformers were a thing. They were transforming robots, but there wasn't the shared aesthetic or colour palette.
Some Transformers figures were repurposed Diaclone figures, others were brand new. Almost all of the repurposed figures were altered at least a little, then packed into a box that said Transformers on it.
If you trace the history of Diaclone figures in the brand, what Diaclone "means" when comparing to either G1 toy, G1 comic or G1 toon can vary. But yes, in terms of Devastator/the Constructicons the answer is that the original Diaclone set of figures was a rather colourful mix!
Finally arrived, hope everything is good.
Edit: Definitely not the most enjoyable figure to manipulate. He combines simple enough but the size and joint tolerances certainly make it a bit of a bear. He seems more back heavy than he should be, Scrapper seems to want to give just enough to make a strait standing A stance tricky. And my copy has an ever so slight lean to the left at the waist.
The materials do feel great and hardware is on point. Paint apps are all nice and crisp. Definitely has presence and will look great in the display.
One big problem was with the accessories. I received two combined mode head cannons and short one Birden rifle. Hopefully TFSource will take care of me.
Any feedback when you get him unpacked, would be greatly appreciated.
I’d like another... but refuse to deal with the issues I had with TW-C07P again.
That dude would know all this already if he bothered to read the Wikipedia link I sent him on literally the previous page.
What's the 'X' versions "thing", again? Certainly not cel-shaded...
Do we have ANY real evidence that "Old Green" will ever be released?
Its supposed to be the "perfect" edition. The more I look at it the less I like the purple. I really prefer the cooler shade of the initial release.
It's the cartoon accurate colour scheme (rather than toy purple), save for the odd choice of silver thighs. It seems you can remove the silver though, rather than hunt the globe for green thighs that are no longer available...
As he's a newbie to transformers, according his profile, I gave decided to give him a pass.
I mean, when Prime's 'change' was losing the huge Diaclone lettering, I couldn't have him thinking it only meant 'psychedelic colour scheme'. Obviously that award goes to G2, but one step at a time...
That’d be cool if TW released a ROTF-colored version of Constructor! Or even more realistic version with just yellow and black or whatever......just some ideas
Yes because they haven't utilized every color of the rainbow ye... oh wait. Yes they have
Shattered Glass Devastator disagrees
My copy has the same left lean. I also agree the cause is an issue at the waist. I haven't had the time to further investigate. And my Scrapper is the same way. His is not the most stable, so standing in certain poses is very tricky. Thanks.
Sad such a good looking figure continues to suffer from the the same engineering, poor qc, and bad production tolerances.
A cause and fix for the lean is described here.
Toyworld Constructor (Devastator/Constructicons)
Or, all I did was glue a piece of hard rubber on top of the right side of the waist which stops the lean by holding that side up.
I may be the only one that feels this way, but the closed mouth Devy face could be improved 10X better if the nose were slightly longer. I have an extra head at home, I may apoxie sculpt him one and then paint it in screen colors and see how it looks. I bet it would improve the look
Yeah , the reason the open mouth looks better is cause his mouth doesn’t look way too far down from his nose like the closed mouth. I’m gonna just be keeping open mouthed
To Fix the Ab Lean:
Would simply cutting down, shortening the original spring accomplish the same result?
Or is a new spring with less tension required?
Any thoughts appreciated.
I never tryed to cut it down. If you do cut it make sure to bend the then cut part of the spring so it meets up to the coil just like it used to before cutting. That will ensure evenly applied force on the gear in that joint. Cut alittle at a time, maybe a quarter a revolution at a time and use heat to bend the spring steel.
Cool. So the new spring you used was the same tension more or less +/-... just a bit shorter?
