You forgot at least the cell shaded and the "Old Green" I think it's called.

The original was released individually and as a box set with the G1 head, lat fillers and green thighs included.

Might have to go for this. I also still have my eye on on the weathered G1 set but at this point I wonder if that's ever going to happen.

It will. Looks like they are behind schedule. This is TW. I seriously doubt they would miss a chance to make another killing on yet another release. LOFL!

This whole time I've been waiting for a dirty G1 version but they're holding out, obviously to double-dip on anyone who already bought it.

    Hi, everyone.

I started collecting MP-scale Transformers just a couple of years ago, and I've reached the point where Devastator is beginning to feel like a huge omission on the shelves (especially with all the great looking combiners coming out lately). I've really enjoyed reading over a lot of your posts on this thread--there's so much context to what I'm just jumping in to, collection-wise--particularly because this Toy World Perfect Edition caught my eye on TF Source, and I wonder if I should take advantage of it. Does anyone feel like it would be worth waiting on a Fans Toys, or other 3rd party, option for Devastator? I had never thought about this before, but one of you noted how you thought TW Devastator fit in better with IDW robots than G1, and I think that that's a solid point. My collection is already very toon-accurate, I guess you could say.

    Sorry that was so verbose.

@Live Deliciously the assumption that FT is going to come out with one any time in the foreseeable future is wishful thinking, in my opinion. If you want this version I would go ahead and go for it, I have no idea what TW is doing next as far as Constructor but it looks like either a cel color or a rusty deco is probably next, neither of which is interesting, in my opinion. You just have to decide which way you want to go, wait for a "better" version or get a clean version while it is available. I can't speak on the style because my personal tastes revolve around realistic alt modes rather than the unadorned and (in my opinion) bland deco that is the toon craze.

Is this set worth getting? I want MP Constructicons but I am not really into the aesthetics of these. Will another 3rd party make these eventually?

It’s worth getting if you like it. If not, you should wait. Someone will make another one eventually.

Spending $500-plus on a stand-in does not make sense to me.

I agree with your assessment but if he doesn’t like the aesthetics, it would be an expensive compromise.

If the MMC Bruticus is successful, you might see them design an all-inclusive Devastator, that would be more cartoon accurate.

And I think this is very helpful advice, thank you. I am not opposed to the TW Devastator aesthetic, because clearly the MMC Combaticons are similarly light on the paint and die cast, and heavy on the chunky plastic, but I really like the MMC Vortex and Swindle so much because they are very faithful representations of the characters I remember. The difference is I think Devastator is much more a fleshed-out (if you will) character than the individual Constructicons, and I'm not seeing Devastator when I look at this.

All things considered, IDK what anyone can do to make a Devestator that looks like the cartoon other than what before and after did with their "action master" . there is no way to hide the detail unlike some of the other combiners.
