Friend of mine had this issue with his yellow. Contacted Toyworld and they sent him an instruction pdf on how to fix it.

Are some parts like...scary tight?

 

Yeah, some parts are a little tight. Not too scary, but you must take care when messing around with it. I've had a couple little tabs break off if things aren't lined up properly. I've been able to fix those tabs, but it's definitely a little finicky. I don't plan on returning it to bot mode anytime soon, just keep him combined, and I'm very careful when I go on photo missions.

How do the vehicle forms fare?

 

As far as transforming them into? They came in mostly alt-mode, so I slowly worked them to bot mode. There were several instances where I wasn't sure if I was doing it right, or going to break it. Once in bot mode I went back to alt-mode. After combining them I honestly never wanted to transform them again. It's a little stressful for me. But I'm kinda ham fisted. I have a clean yellow scrapper and it's a breeze to transform. The custom paint definitely makes things a little sticky. Still he's the pride and joy of my collection.
