Agreed. Based on my experience, this is a set you want to avoid. The quality is very substandard.

 

Despite all the praise people give this set, it has been riddled with issues from the start. And thus people asked for replacement parts.

However, Toyworld has always been a difficult company to get replacement parts from. If you contact them with praise, they'll reply. If you contact them for a replacement part....crickets will sound and tumbleweed will roll by. I've experienced this myself with one of their Throttlebots (the head was broken in the box and I bought it directly from their then on linestore), and I've read many reports about this in regards to other products. Not just from customers, but also from stores.

Stores, however, have an obligation to their customers. But since they cannot get parts from Toyworld, they have to sacrifice their own stock for parts. Since this is a losing game for them, many stores included a note on the Constructor product page that you bought it at your own risk: replacements part would not be offered and returns are not possible. If TFsource also has this, then that would explain why they're not helping you.

 

TFSource did not have this disclaimer on their website, and honestly as a customer this shouldn’t be an issue for me. It’s up to TFSource to deliver me the product I paid for. If they are unable to get parts, that is their problem, not mine. Asking me to modify/repair a brand new item is unacceptable. Based on how bad the quality of this set seems to be, I wouldn’t sell it if I was a retailer. That said, I didn’t know this when I ordered the set. So I want either a replacement Shovel figure or for TFSource to send me a return label and then to refund me. I’ll be sad if I have to return it since it’s a great display piece, but those are the only two options I’m considering.

 

Why does it always seem like TFSource is trying to get rid of their Constructor stock?

 

On a related note I got reminded not a while ago about the Stunticon and Combaticon teasers inside the yellow Constructor box....Too bad these wont materialize kinda ever....I mean probably ZETAs Bruticus is the end result of one of these two, but I kinda dont like it

Given that they prioritized Raiden over their teased Predaking and assuming that Predaking will materialize (hope so) even if they have a Menasor planned it will be in a gazillion years....

The Cang Toys Predaking is Toyworlds Predaking. Zeta seeming stop development on theirs after TW was no longer producing them.

Cause Zeta is petty like that with Toyworld.

 

@Grimlock212 You should also consider contacting your credit card company or paypal, depending on how you paid. It's up to the retailer to provide a quality product and like you said either they fix it or accept the return. This self DIY repair is just total BS for the price of these figures especially from a local US based retailer.

Always better to ask questions and get the protection your card provides. They are very happy to answer questions whenever I have had a problem.

 

That is the next step if TFSource doesn’t do the right thing. You’d think a sponsor to this website would do the right thing, but we’ll see.

 

Don't put any stock in them sponsoring a fan forum site dedicated to part of the inventory they sell.

 

 

Just picked up a weathered version of this guy and HOLY F*&$%#G S*&T!!! I don't want to speak too soon and say I got lucky with an unblemished one but nothing fell apart when I took him out.....so far.



Scared to death to transform him, or even combine him, but I'll probably do both at some point today. Everything seems scary tight on him.

Any help on what I should be looking for first as far as inspecting him for breaks before transforming or combining him?

Haven't been this hyped up to get something since I got the Mythoclast, y'all. This thing is beautiful.

 

I’d be extra careful with Shovel (Scrapper/Right leg) and his waist piece. That’s what broke for me. I’m told the Weathered models are built better, but I can’t confirm that or not.

 

A couple years ago this same question was posed, but about MakeToys Quantron.  

 

Wow, that's super cool that it appears to be packaged basically ready to assemble! The least favorite part of Constructor for me was transforming into combined mode due to joint tolerances.  

 

I think they ship them this way so you don’t transform them and break in the process.
