Agreed, and i cant understand why they had to make the bonnet curve so pronounced like we didnt already know they were breast, or that Arcee is female !!!! Just keep it simple and similar to the animation, or like Delicate Warrior !! Squared and angular like its meant to be !!
I don't mind some "cute" or "pretty" bots. But G1 (and my memory) just isn't like that for MP/G1/1980's. I think a lot of the IDW cast is very "cute/pretty/handsome" however. Don't know about "TnA" (lol...) but Nautica and Windblade are cuties :3
I saw these pics and thought it was Legends scale. Saw their Cosmos being called "MP" so went back and took another look at her, nope. As a smaller Legends scale figure, yeah maybe I'd pick this up. If this is suppose to be MP then I'll wait for someone else.
Yup. Since her inception, Arcee has been a very sexist, Japanese-creepy (very much along the lines of KISS Players), objectified character. She has low-cut pink bikini robotic panties, ferfuqsake! I've seen that Legends comic before, and it is just shameful. If that came out in the West with a kid's toy, there would be.... Oh wait. Noone cares anymore...Well, before apathy set in, people would have been shocked. The designs (where was that sketch from???) for Legends/Generations Arcee obviously had that underlying creepy-as-shit cheesecake style to it (where whatever his name is was practically trying to will her midrift into flesh). Yes, this "Arcee" is clearly trying to play up the Lingerie Model aspect of Arcee's shape and look. Par for the course at this point. I don't think I'll be getting it for whatever reason...Head's super small, aforementioned Sorayama-bot aesthetics, trying to be part IDW Arcee, part "G1" Arcee...I dunno.
I'm a woman and I never saw Arcee's original design as objectifying or any of that nonsense. I think her design is pretty and feminine.
Fix the head and I'm interested. Hope this will lead other 3rd party companies to reveal their own designs.

You did see the comic that had the overt ass-shot (with her robotic thong), with an apron on, cooking, all three of the "femmes" from that wave wearing Playboy-bunny lingerie, etc.? Yeah. I'm not a woman but I agree. I always saw her as a soldier just like the rest of the guys. I hate what the Japs did to her character in headmasters. Then again, they made Ultra Magnus, Cyclonus, and Scourge chumps in that series
Someone told me at the show that the head was small, and I guess I can see it. Maybe if it was a bit bigger, would improve overall look. I think this digibash and edit version of the head is very nice from Psychochi. I am hoping it will have lipstick on, and well painted, not too much or oversprayed.

Eh, I've always found the Legends strips amusing. It's just Sakamoto having a bit of fun, nothing to take overly seriously. Anyway, back on topic: I don't know what to make of this. The lower half of the robot mode is pretty good (the "belly buttons" are a neat touch) but the upper half...ech. The shoulders are too broad, the "boobs" are pretty weird (and not even sexy) and the head is just a trainwreck. Also, why does she have katanas? Even IDW Arcee doesn't have katanas- they're more like straight iai swords (I think, never read IDW). I'll wait for Takara or Maketoys.
I just don't care. Is it pervy? Maybe, but it's a silly, light-hearted comic that barely has any impact on the G1 canon. Throw it in the trash can if it bothers you that much. This.
@ Delta Magnus: I haven't heard of Maketoys doing it yet, but damn, I wish I had asked them on the weekend, now I feel stupid... As for Takara, I hope it is delayed a bit, so I can get the other 3rd parties I am waiting for, and get the Takara one too... I want a team of them .
All I know is that I want a g1 Arcee. No tits or belly buttons. And I want her as tall as unique toys buzzing or close to that.
