Yeah, that straight up looks like the post fractured off. The good news is that it should be very easily fixable, but it's disappointing that it happened at all. Could be an indication of contaminants in the plastic, or possibly air bubbles given the patterning. At least, I'm hoping it's one of those two since they would most likely represent just an unfortunate circumstance, rather than a systemic issue.

Taiwanese Mandarin has very distinct differences from Chinese Mandarin, kinda like Parisian French and Québécois French.

In Taiwan, we tend to drop the "ar/er" sound that Mainlanders add to the end of a lot of words. Intonation can be somewhat different as well. Some different vocabulary, different expressions, etc.

Could be he was speaking Taiwanese as well. Or he has a southern Taiwan accent. Even after 16 years, I have trouble understanding my father-in-law at times because of his southern Taiwan accent.

Oh, right, TW Optimus. Sucks about the post. I haven't really fiddled with mine since getting it. Gonna kid glove it from now on though.

Clearly best piece of detail on the movie model

Now I’m kinda glad I cancelled my PO. I’ll just look forward to TMT and if that turns out to be a QC nightmare, I’ll reconsider UT and Orion again.

I honestly don't know. His mandarin sounds fine to me. I just assumed any words or phrases I didn't understand was due to my lack of skills.

I'm also pretty sure he's not speaking Taiwanese since I don't understand regular Taiwanese.

As for the toy, is the center of the chest really that wide in the movies? I'll have to double-check. I thought the UT version looked more accurate or natural.

Yeah them switching from "pre-order" to "incoming" usually means that they're gonna have him in stock soon. At least the deluxe version.

Cheers thanks for that. I may risk a sneaky preorder deposit quickly.

This is the second Toyworld OP I have (Tactics Waistcoat was the first), and between them both i'm wondering if it may make more sense to stick with ThreeZero, as the transformation on this one is just an absolute nightmare....AGAIN. I'm only about halfway there following some dude on Youtube since Toyworld's instructions suck, but holy shit, this is the transformers equivalent of getting a fucking root canal. As it is, I need to set it down for a while and come back to it in o This is definitely a "transform once and never again" toy.

Yes, it looks great, especially in robot mode, but UT Challenger has it beat because at least that one is fun to transform and doesn't make me want to kill myself halfway through.

Like I'm seriously starting to wonder if the Toyworld designers are actual human beings or a CAD program on a desktop somewhere in Guangzhou that spontaneously evolved into an AI that exists in a virtual space, never interacting with the physical world.

Hm.... pay balance email arrived from Showz. For both this and BMB blitzwing. Atm only in the position to choose one of em. Certainly an interesting choice.

I got the pay balance email too. Thought it would be ages away though as I was under the impression that the deluxe version was the “2nd batch” and the reg version is still on preorder o_O

So I finally got this into vehicle mode, but it took a lot of finessing, massaging of parts, and everything still doesn't really line up 100%. The tolerances on this guy are severe - if you have anything misaligned it's game over. Afterwards, I grabbed Challenger and transformed him to vehicle mode as well - without instructions, intuitively.

If I had to compare, i'd say Toyworld's is like a plamodel, while Challenger is more like a toy you can actually play with. UT really hit it out of the park with their figure, in that they were able to not just pull off each mode very well, but made the transformation between modes pleasant as well. Challenger just feels more solid and more like a figure you'd be likely to mess around with again and again.

Toyworld certainly has it beat in robot mode, but Challenger is the clear winner in terms of vehicle mode, transformation and solidity. I almost got rid of Challenger, and now i'm glad that I didn't.

Think I’ll still with my PO. Been wanting him for ages and enjoyed Freedom leader.

weirdly no English reviews for a lot of figures releasing recently.
