Honestly Yamato is a legend in its own right - it can stand by itself without needing to be part of a combiner.

I just got Zhu Rong. I'm glad they added instructions and that the instructions ive details about how to fix some of the mistransformations that are shipped.
Unfortunately, the chest piece is shipped disconnected and I cannot seem to get the force to push in the peg on the chest. There's too many pokey bits  . I'll have to try again later when my fingers stop hurting.

 

Get it completely into alt mode and then try attaching the island structure. I had the same issue when I opened him too. I decided to go ahead and transform him into ship mode and the peg just popped right in with no problems.

 

The factory workers couldn't get it in, so they let you do it yourself. Then its not their fault of something breaks...

 

I filed down the peg a little and managed to eventually force it in. The biggest problem for me was that there was no easy spot to put pressure at the correct angle due to the pointy and fragile bits right over the peg.

 

Got mine last night from ShowZ. It was concerning to not see a head when opening the box lol. It's fine that it's stored in the chest, but funny that there's a cut out for it in the foam.

And yes, attaching the tower/chest piece is not fun. I sanded down the ball joint a bit and swung out the arm of it so I could apply the pressure directly above the ball joint. It eventually went in. I had the robot in ship mode by that point. I also had to sand down the peg on the sword bit for the tonfa-style configuration.

Did anyone else have trouble sliding the panel with the hands past the arm to be able to rotate the hands in for alt mode? I couldn't get clearance and had to just push it through. I'm worried that will scratch it up.

 

Initially yes I did have a bit of concern over the hand transformation, but if you watch the video of it, it even warns you of this to be careful of the clearance. But overall, I have to say that the transformation from bot to ship was pretty easy and intuitive. Once you get past the arms, everything else is pretty straightforward and fairly easy. I really like this one and he presents very well against the cruiser team members. I cant wait to get the rest of this set.

Someone had mentioned that they heard that there will be 6 figures in all, with a submarine being offered that transforms into a weapon for the combiner. Initially I was against getting it, but now the more that I think about it, Im thinking I will probably get it. It just feels like the whole set wont be complete without a submarine in the mix. I guess we will see. So far though, I couldn't be happier.

 

I had the same issue with getting the island in. I eventually just got a plastic spudger and pushed the flat side against the back of the ball joint, thumb on either side and pressed hard. It popped in with some trouble, but not really any hassle. At least I know it's not coming back out easily.

Haven't had a chance to transform mine, but it looks impressive!

It is. TFsource are also scammers and charge
250$ for it. Also cancelled my Pre Order at ShowZ.
Not interested anymore.

The Combiner itself I will complete.
The Torso Bot will maybe have the same Price Tag.
That is okay, but I am not going to pay 250$+ for
a Side Character.

 

Lol, I'll wait for clearance. A lot of us did not get red envelopes for Chinese New Year, so no moolah.

 

Your post makes it sound like TFSource is charging $250. TFSource is charging $314.99 for it same as BBTS. I don't know where you got that number, but you might want to clarify.

Other than that, yeah. Not too keen on paying anywhere north of $200. I was really looking forward to this one, but either I get it on a good discount, or I'll sadly be passing.
