Well i was just browsing through the web and I stumbled upon a thread on another website where TF fans were talking about a fresh case of Toy Swapping. This time a Leader Class Optimus Prime 2007 was swapped for a ROTF Prime.

    Full post is below.

    One word.

    LOL

Okay, so it appears that someone has been buying leader class ROTF figuers and replacing them with old 2007 figuers, THEN RETURNING THEM.
This happened at a Wal-mart, the packaging was taped back professionally, the person even used the transparent wires, and this was good enough to fool the workers at Wal-mart.

Beware to all who are buying the sets, make sure you check what your buying!

I honestly think this guy is a genius, not like that is a good thing mind you, this is highly illegal and very wronge, but honestly I would have done the same thing if I didn't have a conscience and had no respect for the law.
But what gets me is that most parents won't be able to tell the difference between the figuers and will probably by the set for their child for their birthday or something. That just brings a tear to my eye.

    [/quote]

And so it begins. Any thoughts on this especially after all those reports that happened for the 2007 line? Now it seems we're in for round 2 of toy swapping this time for the ROTF toy lines. :(

    yep... Expect toy swapping galore.

Many people in the fandom promised they would do this as a way to get back at hasbro for releasing Premiums. They planned to return the non premiums to the store and they did.

They even did it when they released Galvatron in energon...

This is no different, I expect a ton of Starscreams repackaged as the new one is a somewhat nicer figure...

I am sure there will be the justifications and comparisons to 'toasters' which justify doing it as well as the mocking of retailers who let it happen.

repackackers suck, its going to happen as long as store employees dont know what is suppose to be in the package.

Well, it DOES look a hell of a lot like what WAS in the box to the untrained eye. That could easily fool anyone who isn't a fan.

I HATE toy repackagers. I mean, imagine the look on a kid's face when he looks at the back of the box at what's supposed to be there, and then what's in it. Imagine how pissed the parents are when they have to return it to Wal*Mart because the ******s there are too dumb to realize the toy is in the wrong box!

i really want to punch someone in the face. esp the person who did this.

if they are on these boards, what an ass.

i cant people believe ppl feel that it is some justification because of the whole premium thing.

its called life jack asses, you cant predict what is going to happen for crying out loud.

this time just wait or save your damn receipt.

id keep going but than i would start stereotyping, categorizing fans and going over the edge.

not to justify things, but pretty much 99.5% of all toy packages have a little disclaimer on the bottom

    "product and colors may very"

Those 5 little words protect toy companies and retailers from being sued due to "what i got didn't match the picture"

i took a training class for an insurance company i had a brief job with and the one thing that stuck was something that the manager said.

he said that every stupid, illogical, make no sense clause in any insurance policy is there BECAUSE IT'S HAPPENED. so i'm assuming that at some point, a toy maker got sued over the product not matching the photos on the box.

the photos are of the prototypes, hand painted examples, or first runs. very seldom ANY product actually matches 100% to the photos on the box.

Those 5 little words are what also unfortunatly what re-packers use to justify things as well.

I am tempted to do this with target superion. It's the same toy just different color like posted above. Except I'm torn becuz I see the new colored one has rounded numbs for the front cone of two of the jets... Don't like the child proofing, I mean we need some sorta natural selection... So I thnk I'll stick with my current one with the pointy numbs of death. Delemma...

sad but true darwinsim at its best, im just saying if you compared some of these repacks to whats supposed to be in the box they aren't that hard to spot XD sadly its not gonna happen the people manning the customer service desks are wage slaves and often don't do more than is required of them

    FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

I know what you mean. I love most of my TF collecting brethren, but the overchargers and those who complain about not being able to get a girlfriend annoy me.

I read online from another TF site about a guy cutting bar codes off of cheap TF figure, (robot heroes) after buying them and then using like a piece of gum and sticking it on the bottom of leader/voyager toys and self checking out.

    Balls. Wrong, but Balls.
