Actually just occurred to me that this will work pretty well with the new Core Class Laserbeak that is coming out in Studio Series.

I'm extra hype for this now. This could potentially be the only way we get characters like Devcon and would be a great way to redo characters like Lockdown, Ironhide, car Shatter, VW Bumblebee, etc.

This is interesting. Looking closely at this it does look like several parts are "borrowed" (I don't care) from NA Mista. I will be interested how closely it transforms to that figure. I already love NA Mista, but am always a sucker for a fun Live Action Carbot.

I'm more interested in is if they do end up with a line of figures. I'm always bummed that the 3P G1 stuff doesn't have more chug style stuff. I like toys that are fun, but not over complicated. Some of the legends scale stuff is starting to hit this sweet spot. I don't think live action stuff could get that small for all the detail it needs. This looks like it could the 3P chug (or current legend) equivalent to the live action stuff. That would be amazing, but for fun, space on my shelves, and my wallet.

Yeah it bothered me the official one was slightly shorter than Bee. Him being the same size or a bit taller definitely would work better.

 

He just looked so bulky and intimidating in the movies. This toylab will solve that and then some!

 

now i hope they make an rotf version because what hasbro gave us is...ugh

 

This legit may have better proportions than the full-MPM scale Mista, and that's absolutely crazy.

I love DOTM Soundwave but his size is a total fail. He should’ve been the SUV he was in the video games to be the size of Ratchet or Ironhide. That would’ve been great!

 

Ohhh now there’s a great idea for a third party company; retool Mista into a jeep, give him the visored ROTF head and scale it with mpm Ironhide!

TFsource just put him up for $65. I guess that’s the official price? If si that’s really good.

 

Possibly, I’d wait on other places though, they’ll be cheaper than TFsource by a decent bit.

 

Yeah I figured that. I preordered on Show Z when they put him up yesterday since he may be a bit cheaper there.

 

i ve preordered it. I have all soundwave from dotm and i ll continue buying this awesome and underrated design.

now like the previous dude said, if only the head was better, but also i think the grill could use more detail

Wow an update! I do hope they hit that July release date but considering that these pics still have unpainted hands and biceps I’ll remain doubtful. Looking good though!

 

Not quite sure if this is my cup of tea, but definitely looking forward to seeing more SS/CHUG scale 3p figures.
Especially if it means Dotm Devcon!
