I would love to see hasbro sell Mechtech weapons in individual packs somewhat like the mini-cons. If i were to work at Hasbro i would 3$ for deluxe sized Mechtechs and 5$ for Voyager sized Mechtechs

 

Honestly i would be behind this because i love the weapons. Hell i spent 10 bucks on Fireburst Prime after the discount and coupon just for the weapon. IO got ratchet for the weapon as well. Weapon packs would be great for arming out my tfs. That said it wont happen.

Sadly the demand for this would be to small to make it profitable.

 

I'm also in agreement, as I , too, buy some products just to get the weapons.

 

I loved Ratchet's weapon. IMO Ratchet and Roadbuster have the best deluxe weapons

 

Oh yeah Roadbusters is great glad it came with Thundercracker as well. It is one of my favorites because it reminds me of the lancer assault rifle  

 

Yeah, you could bulk up on some toys, but part of the 'attraction' of the bigger toys are the MechTech accessory, and it's the line's gimmick. If you already had one of the MechTech guns, which would you get a toy only to have the same gun (unless you want to seriously weaponize your toy)?

 

Hasbro doesn't do accessory packs because they don't sell. They apparently tried it with GIJoe awhile back as a testbed, and even with how cheap those are to produce, they just couldn't get significant returns on them.

 

^ Pretty much this. As much as collector types would probably bite... it's not enough for them to justify making weapon packs. Hasbro, in particular, sells to children. Kids are far more interested in the figures themselves than the weapons they hold usually... and frequently lose them. Heck, all of us probably curse the fact that a number of their old toys are incomplete for this reason.

Now if we could somehow convince Has/Tak to test a batch in online stores tailored for adult collectiors... *maybe* we can see such a thing happen...

 

I like the idea alot, but I have been just getting free DOTM figures from Target and stealing their weapons for my classics figures.

This is evidence for them NOT to do weapon packs.

But yeah, I've been wishing they do weapon packs for years. A three pack of Targetmasters or something... maybe some simple 5mm pistols or melee weapons. I think that a pack with one Cyberverse, one Mechtech, and one Targetmaster would be pretty ideal. Don't foresee it ever happening, but ah well.

Some of the DOTM scout HA figures are basically weapons packs. Backfire for instance: transforms into a huge "mech tech" cannon and includes 2 c-clip guns.

And one of those deluxe Wreckers, in weaponized form is too: includes a mech tech weapon plus 4 standard 5mm peg weapons too.

 

I dont think Hasbro would ever try weapons packs again. I think the blame lies with the accessory packs they did for the phantom menace. Basically every thing they sell has to stand alone as a toy. What we need it more toys like recon ironhide or darkmount that comes with more weapons then they need

 

Am I reading this right.... You're using the weapons from your "free" DOTM figures (used coupons to purchase) for your classics... I initially read it as you were saying that you stole the weapons...  

 

you never know some third party company might make some or we might get KO mechtech weapons which wouldn't bother me at all. i'm surprised tfc toys haven't come up with some yet, they made the gear of war set didnt they?

 

The mechtech pack I want is the one with the Jetwings and guns.

 

Yes I am using the weapons from my free figures with Classics.

It is a great idea and a awesome way to arm some of them with unique weapons!

 

I would love me more Sideswipe and Laserbeak guns for sure. I know they would never make weapon packs, but I love the idea and would have no problem buying $50 worth of them
