For some franchises they work, like Macross where I just want a goddamn SDF-1 for less than a firstborn son (dammit, I only have a daughter!).

For TFs, which are flooded with cheaper, better alternatives... less so. Hell, the Titan Guardians gave me a better Soundwave, Optimus, and Megs for $5.

Thanks, it's a joke Larry the Cable Guy would say.

Personally, these figures brought a smile to my face and made me think about the Action Masters line.

They do look 3D-printed. This means they're not particularly packed with details or articulation, but it also means they look a lot like the G1 cartoon. If they were like 5 bucks and made a bunch of obscure characters I could see myself picking up a couple of them. That they are so shamelessly low-resolution would then just be their style. I'd be substantially more interested in repaints styled after the Marvel comics. But for 18 bucks each plus shipping? Eeh...

And I say this as someone who actually would like a couple of modern action masters, regardless of their scale. Some cheap little legends-sized dudes could be great fun if the budget that is usually spent on transformation was instead fully spent on poseability and a nice robot mode. I'd buy some deluxe action masters if they were done to the same quality level that WFC deluxes are. But I'm the guy who thinks pretenders are the coolest subgroup and would like to see both actionmaster headmasters and actionmaster pretenders, so, uh, I'm not exactly expecting that my interests will be catered to. Especially not since "mainline" transformers that don't transform are at odds with what the general public expects.

These would be great figures to display with a S.T.A.R.S. Activity Center

I like the look of these, but they are so overpriced.  I would pick all of these up if they were half of what they are asking for.  I\'ll only pick up a couple that I like.

If they made an Autobot Spike would you buy one? Not being snarky, I'm genuinely curious. I don't think that character has been made in any official capacity, right?

I dunno, man.... it would have to look right... these look.... not right.

...side note, I customized my own Autobot Spike years ago from some C.H.U.G. figures. Very happy with that result.

I like them and the whole ReAction line is cool in that you can have all these different properties on nice cards, or in the same simple scale that doesn't take up a ton of space. They really aren't underdetailed - they always seem to nail the base details and I never feel like something is missing. They come with the standard weapons too.

The price is definitely unfortunate and my only misgiving, however they will sell out. Almost all of these sell like gangbusters even at this price. So that's just the reality of it right now.

Really? I hadn't thought so, but confess I've not really paid that much attention. If they ARE selling out, then I would say that, by definition, they're not really overpriced at all. They're just more than *I* want to pay.

If that was the case then I should have been allowed to buy Volks dolls at Mattel prices when it comes to this type of conclusion. :lol

In all cases AmiAmi has them listed for 2,400 JPY. Their average price for ReAction "toys" are listed at 2,000 JPY. So pretty much the answer is no. Especially since Super 7 is trying to get the attention of those who would rather go to Akihabara Radio Kaikan for hobby-related collectibles than, lets say, Sunshine City's Toys"R"Us after a day of visiting NamjaTown with their kid(s).

Then again, I am also not buying these. Not because of the price. But rather for the same reasons why I don't collect Volks dolls: No interest at this time.

One thing I gotta give these, is how great it is to see the proper logo. I actually can't believe Generations has never gone full-retro with the packaging, even for some sort of Limited Edition releases.
(like Legends Sixshot, oh man, I actually preferred the Hasbro deco, but almost went for Legends JUST because of the box)

(I really don't like the current Condensed version of the logo at all)

If they did the transformers human characters at this scale, I\'d be interested, but none transforming transformers, think i\'ll pass thanks.
