It’s a shame that some of the figures are still lacking in this area, though(Optimus and Ratchet in particular). If only we could have today’s engineering and sculpting, with 2007’s Premium Series paint or 2014’s Platinum Edition paint. That’s the only thing making me not 100% sure about that couple of figures. But I love how flexible they’re being with the size classes. Lockdown’s a bit oversize in alt mode, but it’s worth it to have that stature in robot mode.

You can see how he has extra height, too, by the way the legs are bent and turned to fit him in the box.

Nah, they’re all listed as being the same height, and that’s clearly not the case. I’d be happy to do the math as soon as stinger and crowbar arrive though.

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet, but what do you think of the possibility of a Dreadbot retool of Crowbar down the line?

Ah, I didn't even realize they were all listed at the same height, I had just looked at ratchet since he was the tallest (in the group shot photo at least).

Who knows what this line entails? They might make figures out of 'bots from the movies that we haven't seen in toy form (we've gotten Crankcase and Crowbar; Hatchet should hopefully come later down the line). Apart from the waves we've seen so far and the leaks that may or may not be true, the possibilities for the Studio Series line is endless.

Aside from Devastator. Something tells me they'd want to steer clear of him.

I’d greatly appreciate a repaint of berserker as an accuratized crankcase...

Takara’s website. That will probably be included with the ROTF repaint.

With the current movie series canned after bumblebee I can see Hasbro takeing the opportunity to use 2019 2020 and quite possibly 2021. to release most of the bayverse style characters before they reboot or redo the entire series. And with out a new movie to add to the character list a chance to step back and revisit characters never made presents itself as a real possibility. And it doesn't even have to be 4 or 5 waves Mabey 2 to 3 to cover 12 to 18 characters a year I could see happening as a small part of generations.

18 a year being 3 full waves of 4 deluxe and 2 Voyager class each wave.

12 a year being 2-3 deluxe and 1-2 Voyager a per wave depending on circumstance.

Studio series - right now has 21 figures planed for the line for now.

If they kept up that pace, they could cover every movie design in five years or so...

Yeah, there a few figures that are lacking in paint, but then, there are figures like Jazz and Grimlock with such great paint applications. Overall, it's better than the last few movie lines.

Anyone notice how stinger looks a little different from how used to look, and Starscream doesnt have his buzzsaw anymore?

At this point, Megatron and Blackout are the clear winners. Followed closely by Grimlock, thanks to that gappy alt-mode and inaccurate transformation.

Stinger’s image was far too low-res to really see what was going on. I suspect that Starscream’s saw will come with the ROTF repaint instead of the missile launcher, which makes sense as he didn’t use it till ROTF.

To be fair they tried using the Dino legs as robot arms on two figures in 2014 and neither really worked well... I’m happy with the little compromise there, especially given how they solved the problem of the two Dino heads, and it looks like they’ve taken some engineering cues from voyager Scorn, which isn’t a bad way to go.

Yeah, the paint on retail Prime was lacking. I just ended up getting the Sdcc premium version and calling it a day.

It's probably Jetfire. He's big enough for the leader size class and with them concentrating on scale, he'd be in scale too. There are connection ports on the voyager Prime that are not used in either robot or vehicle mode so it's probably for attaching jetfire armor.
