The fact that motormaster has his own bot mode with elbows and knees means it is a strong contender for buying. Cyclonos looks ok but sadly just looks too blocky.

 

Holy crap, all those people who want modern Transformers to be like the original G1 toys are getting their wish.
The unilegs, absence of articulation on the members...these are literally G1 Combiner levels of engineering.

I actually do kind of like it slightly, and I feel guilty for doing so. If the price is right, I might just bite.

 

The robot modes aren't too bad considering. Might have to get a couple for the toy box. Maybe wait to see what Bruiticus is like.

 

Well, at least Galvatronus is something kinda new. Too bad there aren't any collector-friendly toys of that team. How am I meant to enjoy TF when everything new is super-childish and everything collector friendly is super-80s? Sure, the movie toy line looks good, but the odds are heavily against the fiction being good.

Edit: Although maybe Primal winning the fan vote will change things. I keep forgetting that happened. There's been no fanfare.

You know, I once thought if I saw a G1 combiner box set at retail, like the Seacon reissue that happened a few years ago, I\'d get it. I guess these are kinda the same. If I wasn\'t prioritizing my buys I\'d get a set. That menasor does look a bit better than the one we got in Combiner Wars. Just sayin.

I know the line is geared for kids, but with the articulation advances in Combiner Wars, this feels like 1984 all over again.

On some level, I just wanted RiD characters with Combiner Wars tooling. But if the Price is right, these are fine. I wonder how they are going to handle Cyclonus or (maybe) Galvatron in RiD? I think they will probably have them as separate characters from old ones like in IDW.

 

At last Cyclonus has his armada and not just Sweeps. It's interesting that they decided to give him mirrors to Victorion's limbs, two pairs of molds that has a "twin" of sorts. Riotgear reminds me of Conduit from TF: Universe.

New Stunticons look okay but nothing special. Then again these figures aren't that impressive to begin with.

 

Until the pictures were labelled I thought Menasor was Megatronus as a combiner.

 

Not trying to be too hard on these (Menasor looks pretty good, I think), but what exactly are the two galvatronus arms supposed to turn into? It looks like a vaccuum cleaner with mandibles or some kind of cybertronian horseshoe-crab. Can anyone help me out here?

 

If I had a guess twin VTOL crafts and armored buggies. They may look different in the show because of the gimmick. Time will tell.

 

Sadly, the thing that interests me the most about these figures are their name. Cyberwarp, Skyjack, Riotgear, Heatseeker, Slashmark? So good...

 

Wildbreak has the same head as Wildrider. Coincidence?

*sigh* They look so cool... yet they look so inarticulate. But more importantly, this is a huge kick in the crotch to everyone who bought Combiner Wars Cyclonus. Now we have to go buy CW limbs and customize them into these new characters, or our Galvatronus won't be in the official configuration.

 

So many combiners I won't be getting...
