What is a "fan built bot"?

 

Roadbuster is looking pretty good with the exception his legs. Not liking Skyfire at all. For a leader figure - his design seems a bit lazy (nose of plane hanging from back).

 

I feel the same way. Plus I don't need a Jetfire that scale.

This one goes under the "maybe" pile for me only because I already have the FOC version and not that big a fan of the character as others may be. Plus his legs and feet do look kind of durpy.

Whirl did kinda grow on me so we'll see...

AGREED! You can tell when the think tank at Hasbro is in need of a new filter..
"Sharknado" was probably someone's inspiration there.

Perhaps some people like it but this is a definite pass for me.

Wasn't familiar with Jhiaxus until IDW. I passed on Armada Starscream so this figure will be unique to me and a welcome addition.

Same a with Jhiaxus I wasn't familiar with this character until I started reading IDW. I also skipped on the first 2 molds so this one will be the exception.

...Guess I'm not as hard on this character as many are. Granted the rushed paint job being displayed doesn't help.

Overall her face kinda reminds me of that "The Face of the Nijika" episode in season 3 of G1. (even though the episode was stupid)

This is still a day one purchase for me.

I don't own a Gears figure so this will work.

Yeah I guess they think the bright colors will attract kids but this is a pass for me.

 

Urgh, I hope not. I was hoping for a Decepticon at least.

 

Its a transformer designed by a fan, hasbro held a competition to make a new transformer a little while back

 

Cybertron Defense Hot Shot would be my preference.

 

Paint him maroon and call him Gunrunner.

 

That could work quite well.

 

Paint him in a dark gray or black commando scheme, and name him anything; I'd buy it.

 

This is probably something that would have to fall into the realm of the club, but I think it'd make a decent Calcar remold.

 

Calcar? I'd very gladly buy one of those! I could see it working - only needs a new head. Would make for a good Botcon or Subscription figure. Would look good alongside the Clench from the Botcon 2010 set.

 

The first thing that came to mind around the time that the list was leaked was that Roadbuster could work as the large ground vehicle form for the G1 Decepticon Pretender Roadblock. But who knows? This, for me, is certainly the most perplexing question of reuse - at least for the Voyagers. My next guess would be more obscure to anyone not following the comics for a little while now or scouring the wikis: perhaps Fang from Squadron X. It would take some retooling and the colour palette isn't too dissimilar but the fans would go nuts for some Squadron X. Still, a pretty long shot though. I'll give it some more thought and wade through the wiki sometime. Or he could be an Autobot who is normally depicted as much smaller and with a completely different skill set to Roadbuster: Mainframe! While I jest, their blocky appearances do share certain similarities.

Beyond that, the mind boggles at what or whom the Windblade mold might be used for. Elita 1 or maybe another member of her resistance unit from Season 2 of the G1 cartoon would be a safe if dimwitted guess.   Alternatively, again it could be interesting to this mold reused for a Decepticon too.

 

Maybe Roadbuster will be retooled into Crosshairs (the Targemaster)
Also, some of you may think of Sky-Byte as a nobody but he's a favorite to many and has a large fan following. If you guys ever get around to watching the Robots In Disguise series you might just see why  

 

Im digging how wingblades vtols seem to be able to swing forward in jet mode to be more aerodynamically plausible when flying forwards, and can still hover in the "thrust' configuration.

The more and more I see Jetfire the more and more I want him.

 

So has anyone seen anything today? Or is it over....

 

Roadbuster has some pretty skinny legs, though I may still have to get him to add to my Wreckers.  

 

Last year Hasbro ran a series of online polls to determine a figure decided upon by the community to be made into a Generations Deluxe. Winning votes determined Faction, Colour, Weapon, Alt Mode, Gender, and Function.

Windblade is the result of those polls.

 

Speaking of Wreckers: Are they ever gonna make Broadside? With Springer, Sandstorm (Now made with delicious cheese...), Whirl, and Roadbuster all having been made in the last year or so, is it too farfetched to think they could put together a leader class Broadside or something?
