We had a tornado here a few weeks ago. Luckily it was only an F1 or so.

Here, in Orchards, Washington, of all places.

Tornado warning? In MY California??! Thats weird, I heard that warning on the news and it blew my mind.

So is it really raining hard somewhere? I've been in class a good part of the day in Riverside and there has been almost nothing in terms of rain while I'm walking around/driving to and from school.

It's been raining non-stop in Torrance for a few hours but there seems to be little wind...

HA! Learn the fear of tornados you West Coast Hippies!!!!

Sorry 'bout that. Living in an area where we get tornado warnings all the time has softened the scare of a tornado to me. Likely comparable to earthquakes to you guys out West. It happens, you deal with it.

Although it's pretty next to impossible, it'd be crazy if there ever was a tornado in the Berkshires. It's so freaking hilly with mountains and valleys.

Technically tornadoes can happen anywhere as long as the pressure conditions are right.

I'm in NorCal for the weekend. But it looks like I ditched Torrance for rain and gloom in Fremont. I was gonna take the 5 but I heard it was iced out at the Grapevine area near Bakersfield. The 101 was a nice alternative even though it took longer. Almost skidded out a few times. Good times.

aksmth, only Razerwire and other Berkeley-ites should be regarded as West Coast Hippies. I'm a So Cal snob.

I remember one year I was driving back to the Bay Area from Vegas. It was at night and there was a huge storm over the Tehachapi Mountains. I could not see three feet in front of me. That stretch of mountain road we practically crawled on for an hour even though it usually only takes 20-30 minutes. It's just south of Bakersfield.

And West Coast Hippies also includes the Haight-Ashbury crowd!

I did get gas there for $0.99 a gallon one year.

Yeah, that's about the only thing I liked about Bakersfield. :lol

It’s been raining every day here this week but today has been endless and getting heavier as the day went on. Looks like tomorrow will be the same.

Ah yes, I forgot about them.

If anyone wants to see real life hippies living in trees, go to the Cal campus! There's a forest of them trying to save the trees from the new planned stadium!
