Good point, they usually do the main franchises but perhaps if we all just ask nicely they'll do these too
Hub. First time I've seen upcoming releases and really wanted them all. Mantis, big t-rex-ish one, Asian dragon...
That dragon is mental, I will almost immediately forget how to transform that after putting it on display.
Thanks for the videos. I will say I wish you specifically showed the articulation more, since the range of the legs and neck of those figures are basically my biggest concerns about them. Those new figures teased in the magazine are freaking insane. Like don't get me wrong the lion and panther are nice but literally every one of those unpainted prototypes look AMAZING. The Dio 2.0 looks like a great evolution of the original, the two mantises look like they're not only very great designs but also very well articulated, and that dragon is an amazing work of transforming (I just hope the articulation is good enough to keep up with the snake like design). The Stegosaurus is probably my least favorite but I still really like it. By the way, how did the guy who posted this video get hold of these so fast? I don't even see them on the tmall shop, though I am browsing via a proxy.
Agree with Piecewise concerning the new designs; quite impressive, especially the mantids and dragon for the engineering involved. Due to their exoskeletal natures, I think insects and arachnids translate wonderfully to robotic designs, and the mantis ranks among my favorites, so this is a very welcome design in this line. I hope they do a dragonfly, too, at some point. Both are beautiful yet deadly predators, which increases their appeal as potential combat machines. The Stegosaur is cool, but I think it comes off as less impressive due to its, ostensibly, simpler transformation in comparison to the mantis and dragon. Judging from the small transformation pics, though, there's more going on with this than most previous figures. The DIO 2.0 is a cool looking upgrade, reflecting the move towards more complexity in the line. I only recently started collecting these, but I think I came in at the right time, as 52Toys seem to be raising their own bars in terms of complexity and detail, and to a lesser extent, articulation, which differs in range by quite a margin across the line. I hope they continue to improve that area as they continue the line. It's a fun line of toys, and I'm glad I discovered it. I've long been a fan of Zoids, but the transformation element, even if it's only into a cube, just raises the cool factor of these toys for me. Looking forward to more revelations.
The dio 2.0 looks great. My question though, is, are we going to get a ghost dog 2.0? Also, a spinosaurus please? At this rate, we're going to have a whole jurrassic park line up
Good post for the upcoming new stuff in the pipeline. Looks like everyone will go for the Asian Dragon (can we get a Phoenix as well?), Insectoids and Dio v.2 (which reminds me more of the Godzilla/Dragon Caesar/Zoids vibe).
Dragon is filed under the Megabox umbrella. Prolly where all the future mythical creatures will fall under as well. Stego mold looks like where the turtle retools from?
Maybe we can get all four of the directional animals. With us getting a tiger, a dragon, a turtle, and hopefully the Phoenix. Amd then it'd be even better if we get the four retooled, into the four Chinese mid direction animals. Just food for thought
Really want a pteradon to complete the 3 ruler trio: Behemoth(land), Leviathan(sea), and Ziz(or just Z, ruler of the skies)
