As we enter the final month for 2018, we reflect back to events that happened this year. Video Game industry wise. Could be a bit early but for me, the only game I'm looking forward to in December is SSBU so I'm gonna cheat a little on this list. In this list, you do not need to only list new games that were released this year, you can list older games that you have never played before until this year. In no particular order: Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu - Switch Pokémon Let's Go Eevee - Switch God of War - PS4 Shadow of the Tomb Raider - PS4 Shantae and the Pirate's Curse - Switch Red Dead Redemption 2 - PS4 Demon's Souls - PS3 Dark Souls - PS3 I. Definitely going to enjoy playing Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on Switch.
God of War or Red Dead Redemption is my 2 best picks of games. Then I'd say Assassins Creed Odessey,Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Just so many great games.
My vote is for Nier Automata, which I have become obsessed with since I bought it on Black Friday sale. Now technically, that is a 2017 game, technically, but the XBox One version only came out this year. And since that’s the first version I’ve been able to play, I’m counting it as a 2018 release.
So where's Fortnite? I'll have to wait, but SSBU will probably be at the top, considering the sheer amount pf quality content being put forth. It's gonna be a blast.
I was joking; a couple weeks ago, one group for top games of 2018 put Fortnite as their number one, above Red Dead Redemption 2, and naturally, more than a few people weren't happy. Some of the memes have been great.
Of the two I have played this year... I'm going to go with RDR2. It was tough, as I really had a lot of issues with the game early on, and there are still moments I'm frustrated with, but god damn am I still playing the game because I'm going to finish everything before I do the last 6 missions of Epilogue 2. I hope to have Shadow of the Tomb Raider beaten before I get Spider-Man for Xmas though.
I still have to play God of War so I just have to assume that everything the reviews and trailers fellme about it being phenomenal are correct. I'm actually gonna give Monster Hunter a nod, because I don't think any other game would get me to buy PSN membership as much as that one has. (And Spider-Man is awesome too, but I think in terms of awards season it's gonna get snubbed for not being part of a franchise. Similarly, DQ11 is probably the best JRPG you'll ever play, but that means less than nothing over here.)
See, I just have no interest in DQ11. I'm tired of the silent protagonist games. It's 2018, there's no reason for my game characters to not talk.
Hey everyone VGA awards are on tonight so check out the awards tonight on all devices PS3,PS4 pro,Xbox console and tablets,PC etc. So be sure to watch to find out who gets game of the yr. Time. Date: Thu, Dec 6 • 7:30 PM CST Home - The Game Awards
Nah, I'm good. I don't have an Doritos and Mountain Dew with me right now and the less I have to see of Geoff's ugly stump called a face, the better. I expext a lot of Kojima dick sucking, a game being revealed that is still like 3 years away, and games that shouldn't win to win.
Was hoping I'd finish more games this year but that's not looking likely. Fallout Ghost Trick Mega Man 11 Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright Spider-Man Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones Fire Emblem: The Blazing Sword Angels of Death Wasn't sure if Angels should be on the list, I guess it's a game(?), but I honestly liked it more than the other candidates so I beat roughly 18 games this year and I'm not really happy with my list. Will try to do better next year, both in number and variety. Not really any new exciting releases in 2018 either.
1. God of War- It’s my favorite game in years. It’s a real masterpiece. So much detail was put into the story and game direction. I can’t wait for the sequel. 2. Spider-Man- This is the best game of the year from a pure gameplay perspective. The web swinging and combat are phenomenal, fast, and fluid. The story is the best solo Spider-Man story since Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2, and Insomniac showed they weren’t afraid to take some risks while also playing up the iconic elements. 3. Red Dead Redemption 2- It actually kinda sucks that I have to put this in third place. Any of the top three are deserving GOTY winners, but this is my list. Rockstar made another compelling open world with a strong protagonist and a great story. The only reason I have it below the other two is because it’s a little slower at the start, but that was also an intentional decision on Rockstar’s part. 4. Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey- Ancient Greece is my favorite period of history, so it was just so neat to explore that. The RPG elements were a great addition to the series, and the whole game really expands on the promise of AC Origins. 5. A Way Out- It’s by far the most unique game I played all year due to the brilliant use of co-op. It had a pretty good story, and it did a good job not turning into too much of a walking simulator. I’d love to see more co-op games like this. 6. Monster Hunter: World- As someone who just got into the Monster Hunter series, this was a great entry point and an excellent RPG all around. 7. Detroit: Become Human- Dare I say it, but I actually think this was Quantic Dream’s best game yet; even better than Heavy Rain. I liked the majority of the characters and the branching decisions were creative and well-executed. 8. Shadow of the Tomb Raider- It’s not a bad game, but the absence of Crystal Dynamics really shows in this one. It’s a little more rough around the edges than the previous two games with a somehow weaker story, but it’s still an enjoyable experience for Tomb Raider fans.
From the games ive played. Limited choices...but... My choice - Super Smash Bros Ultimate (Nintendo Switch)
1.Spider-Man 2.Super Smash Bros Ultimate 3.God of War 4.Pokémon Let’s go Pikachu 5.Red Dead Redemption 2
Considering i haven't had too much time to play a ton but: 1. Red Dead Redemption - great story and easy to get lost in the tiny little things like hunting. Hell just exploring can be fun. 2. Spider-man - this is what a Spidey game should be. Fast fluid controls and just plain fun. Also enjoyed ep 1 of Life is Strange 2. Can't wait till next chapter.
I finally have Spider-Man, but I won't be playing it until at least next week, so my GotY award goes to RDRII. The worst game of the year is Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
My top 3 (in no particular order) 1 Spyro reignited 2 Fist of the north star: lost paradise 3 mothergunship
