I was thinking through the best bots currently in my collection. Here are my top ten in order of preference:

1) MP Soundwave - arguably the best MP made to date
2) FT Willis - many will disagree but the look, colors, and feel of this bad
boy screams superb.
3) MP Ultra Magnus - big well made bot with G1 accuracy
4) MP Optimus Prime - a must have, well made toy. The more recent and
upscaled MPP10 is better made and looks better. If
they made an MP10 of same quality, this would
make it higher on my list.
5) FT Sever X version - Imposing and beautiful
6) Reximus Prime Comic version- Imposing and beautiful
7) Sphinx - sleek and well made
8) MP Seekers - get your hand on any and all you can. The most recent KO
Skywarp, bb7, is well made and easier on pocketbook.
9) FT Bugs - I dont have their Kickback yet, but their first two are great G1
representations.
10) Quakeblast - highly debated figure. Never had Quakewave but happy
to have this well made Shockwave representation.

If that Megs 2.0 MP prototype is real... probably that, depending on the deco they go with. Failing that, whatever your favorite 3P Megs option is.

Takara's version of Titan Devy. (Much maligned, but imo destined to be a classic.) If you don't like that, whatever your favorite iteration of Devy is.

G1 Optimus Prime, just because, and I know you said one representation of a character only but... it's impossible to have a tiny curated TF collection without the original toy that started it all for so many of us imo. At least it would be in mine.

MP Laserwave, or G1 Shockwave, take your pick. But at least one has to be present. It's a purple laser gun with one eye. It lights up. I mean, come on. Lol.

Whatever your favorite iteration of Grimlock happens to be.

G1 Fortmax. Or the Titans Return version if you like it better but either way... must have the largest bot ever depending on which you think takes that crown. (For me, it would be the G1 version.)

Some version of Bumblebee. Take your pick. (For me it would be MP or G1.)

Some version of Soundwave. Take your pick. (For me it would be MP or G1.)

Whatever your favorite, most beloved prominent movie character is. Hot Rod, Rodimus, Galvatron, Arcee, Ultra Magnus, Wreck Gar, Cyclonus, Scourge, Blur, Kup, etc. Then pick your favorite version of that character. (Or wait for an MP if one doesn't exist yet.)

Your favorite deco of the Unicron mold is. Such a great mold imo.

That would be it for me if it was meant to be a sort of "tiny museum of why G1 Transformers is awesome."
