Post your top ten favorite Classics through Generations deluxe-sized figures, and give a reason for each. Take pics if you can.

I was gonna limit this to five, but I found I couldn't narrow it that much. As much as we complain sometimes, we've gotten a lot of good toys in these lines.

    Here are mine:
    1. CW Air Raid: My fave Aerialbot, my fave plane, and a really awesome figure and combiner limb to boot.
    2. RTS Jazz: Tall, imposing, and with the right alt. mode, this is the definitive "Classics" Jazz.
    3. CW Quickslinger: The Aerialbot everyone wants and the best use of this mold.
    4. Gen. Warpath: Just a fun figure with a smooth transformation.
    5. Gen. Arcee: We finally got an Arcee figure! And it's actually pretty good, poseable, and transforms!
    6. TR Chromedome: Best Titans Return deluxe I've gotten yet.
    7. CW Swindle: The Rook mold is awesome, and Swindle wears it surprisingly well.
    8. RTS Prime: Best deluxe CHUG Prime that we've gotten.
    9. WfC Megatron: Big for a Deluxe, and checks all the Megatron boxes, with colors, fusion cannon, etc.
    10. Universe Starscream: Best use of the Classics Seeker mold, IMHO.

Geez, if we're including Titans Return, then I don't even have to give this any thought.

    Chromedome
    Fortress

    1. Million Publishing Stepper ~ As @FAKER II stated, his paint is just exquisite. Ratchets what I'd call the best Deluxe mold in the line (Jazz) up to 11. To quote Ferris Bueller: "If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up." Normally i wouldn't list a repaint as a separate ranking in a post like this, but Stepper is just that much better, plus different enough to look wholly unique. And a Targetmaster to boot.

    2. United Jazz ~ that such a tiny sports car unpacks into one of the larges, most well filled out deluxe figures is really something else. Incorporating the speakers into the doors is the icing on the cake.

    3. Universe/Henkei Sunstreaker ~ beats out his Lambo brethren on account of the crazy-good head sculpt

    4. Classics Bumblebee ~ With his fully realized interior, he's like a mini Alternator. I think he's better then Masterpiece BB.

    5. Legends Blurr ~ a great mold with another next-level paint job.

    6. Henkel Hound ~ just all around great, similar too Bumblebee in the "miniature Alternator" design with the seats.

    7. Titans Return Mindwipe ~ such a unique transformation and look.

    8. Universe Cyclonus ~ i never thought they could make an actually screen-accurate Cyclonus that could transform. And he came with his Targetmaster!!!

    9. T30 Crosscut ~ much better headsculpt then Skids, nice metallic red paint? Plus, love me some Diaclone homages.

    10. Generations Drift ~ unique transformation for a car, lots of weapons that stow away, great look (not to mention the Deadlock repaint)

In contention: T30 Scoop (Double Targetmasters FTW), Warpath (would be in top 10 if not for turning into an H-tank), TR Wierdwolf, Thrust, Dirge (i much prefer the Classics conehead mold to the Seeker mold for some reason), Wheeljack, United Tracks, CW Dragstrip, Classics Mirage, Henkei Astrotrain...

I'd also be pretty surprised if TR Trigger-happy doesn't boot someone out of the top 10 when i get him.

Edit: @TFfanatic88 reminded me of Henkel Hound, he def. displaces Scoop off the top 10.

Ooh man, good idea for a topic! Classics/Generations/Universe (My preferred term)/Whatever you call is one of the best lines in recent TF history.

    (Long post, sorry!)

    10.) Generations Crosscut
My first experience with the Skids mold and one of my personal favorites out of the Thrilling 30 sub-line. Its amazing how a simple head swap and touched-up paint job can make this guy seem unique. The "chrome" bits are also a delight to look at, although I suspect they'll be flaking in about five years.

    9.) United Jazz
Super, super happy I managed to snag the United version as opposed to the RTS version. I love the colors on this guy and Jazz is one of those characters who really doesn't need a rubsign. Great articulation and sculpting make this guy the definitive Classics Jazz. Only reasons he's not higher are his fiddly car roof transformation and the chest which doesn't lock in place.

    8.) Combiner Wars Blast Off
Funny enough, the only Decepticon figure on the list. Blast Off's colors are the absolute only reason I chose him to represent the CW Fireflight mold. They are absolutely gorgeous. Not only that, but he makes a sweet arm to Bruticus too.

    7.) Titans Return Hardhead
My first TR figure and the one that convinced me to go after the entire line. Hardhead mixes in great poseability and meaty plastic with a great design and awesome gimmick. He makes a great "beginner's" TR figure and is definitely worthy of shelf-space.

    6.) Combiner Wars Groove
Originally, I had CW Prowl as the other leg of Defensor, but when I saw Hasbro was bringing over the Deluxe Groove mold, I had to check him out. And I'm glad I did! Honestly one of the best bikeformers out there! He looks great, he feels solid, and his arm and leg modes fit together perfectly! Definitely the best of the May Mayhem figures.

    5.) Combiner Wars First Aid
Alright, alright. This is the last CW figure on the list! First Aid garners points for not only being a great character in the comics, but for being an absolute Thrilling 30 Sandstorm-tier retool of the CW Offroad mold. Seriously, this remold friggin' rocks! Headsculpt is perfectly First Aid and the whites on this figure are phenomenal! Like, Takara-tier phenomenal!

    4.) Universe 2008 Sunstreaker
Universe 2008 might be my absolute favorite TF line ever due to the fact that it gave us so many great molds. The Lambo twins mold is one of those! Sunstreaker and Sideswipe are great examples of how versatile a mold can be, years before Combiner Wars and Titans Return reared their heads. Sunstreaker gets ahead by being absolutely fabulous in terms of paint and sculpt. My definitive Sunstreaker, never to be replaced.

    3.) Universe 2008 Hound
Universe Hound is one of those figures that cannot, and most likely will not, be topped. It perfectly mixes a faithful sculpt with great articulation and an intuitive transformation. One of my grails from the Universe line, one I'm very happy to have in my collection.

    2.) Titans Return Brainstorm
Without a doubt, my favorite TR figure so far (Sixshot is gunning for that title...). Brainstorm is yet another example of perfect mold-use and absolutely blows his Voyager predecessor out of the water. A great G1-accurate sculpt with excellent joints and a fun-as-hell transformation. I think I may have transformed him at least 30 times since I've gotten him (which was this past Saturday!).

    1.) Generations Orion Pax
The absolute best Deluxe figure we have gotten in the Generations line. Serious contender for Purchase of the Year, Orion Pax is a fun figure with amazing articulation, perfect comic-accurate modes (both robot and truck), great weapons he can wield in a variety of ways, and a fun transformation. This guy is the crown jewel of my Deluxe collection and is definitely in my Top 5 favorite Transformers of all time.

Hmmm, this is interesting and fun. Of course in an hour I will be "Gah, why didn't you put Skullcrusher or T30 bomber Meg' , you idiot!" but hey, it's always like this.
+ with Triggerhappy and Twinferno coming...

At the moment my 10 favorites would be.

Cripes. This will be difficult. In no particular order:

    Generations WFC Optimus Prime
    - Love the detail that went into the transformation on this, and how accurate such a small figure manages to be to source. The Darkside repaint of this mold is genuinely excellent.

Universe 2.0 Cyclonus - As above, this is phenomenally accurate to source, very poseable, and kibble free with the bonus of a target master. Not the strongest vehicle mode but still a winner. I've got a real soft spot for the SG repaint of this mold.

GDO Cliffjumper - I think I'm just about the only one that loves this. I love the mold and I love it's use as Cliffjumper. I enjoy the idea of him getting a tougher looking alt mode than BB.

Titans Return Blurr - A return to form for the line after weak offerings through Thrilling 30 and Combiner Wars. No hollow limbs, no gimped articulation, and not tiny.

Titans Return Wolfwire - See above comments on Blurr. Bonus points for being Zoids-ish and having a more integrated Titan Master play pattern.

Generations Drift - Surprisingly big in both modes and lots and lots of play value.

Classics Mirage - The poseability and the aesthetic get me with this one every time. Unfortunately overlooked in lists like this.

Classics Bumblebee - Hasn't been surpassed. Unlikely to be any time in the future either.

I can't really pick more than that on the basis that there's certainly a body of figures that I have quite a great deal of affection for, but am not sure whether they're good enough to make the cut above any other. These are Universe Sideswipe/Sunstreaker, RTS Laser Prime, FoC Starscream, RTS Jazz, WFC Soundwave, GDO Springer, Generations Thrust, Classics Rodimus and Generations Blurr.

There are also figures I've heard good things about which might have otherwise featured, but which I don't own like Generations Armada Starscream, Generations Wreck Gar and Generations Orion Pax.

Then there are the figures I don't rate as highly as everyone else seems to like TR Chromedome, TR Hardhead, the seeker mold and Generations Skids/Crosscut. All of which are obviously intentional omissions.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned WfC Soundwave. That's one of my all time favorite deluxe figures of any line, let alone CHUG. As for the other nine, let's see... WfC Megatron, FoC Optimus, Gen Orion Pax, Arcee, and Skids/Crosscut, CW Mirage, TR Hardhead and Chromedome, and last but not least Gen Sky Shadow.

EDIT: Oops, the post above mine mentioned Soundwave while I was typing. But still, fantastic figure.

    • Not in order:

    • Henkei G2 Laser Convoy - Love the ankle joints and the wrist joints, for a swordbearer they're fitting since they're hinged! All swordbearing deluxes should have those joints by default.
    • Legends Blurr - G1 accurate deco and an excellent transformation that is neither too complex, nor stupidly simple. It's pleasant!
    • Classics Mirage - Excellent articulation, which lends itself to its lanky silhouette. Underrated figure, I wasn't sure if I would like it but that all changed once I opened it.
    • WFC Megatron - The second I freed this from its package I was immediately impressed. Solid feel, great sculpt.
    • WFC Soundwave - Great sculpt and I love how the guns can store as "batteries" inside the chest!
    • WFC Bumblebee - I love the sculpt on this and the feel. Wish it was easier to transform.
    • WFC Optimus - Unique sculpt and look for Optimus that comes off as a gladiator. Colors used aren't bad either.
    • Henkei Astrotrain - Similar size to the G1 figure only way better articulation and a cartoon accurate paint job. A highly overlooked figure and fun to transform.
    • Universe/Classics 2.0 Cyclonus - G1 accurate jet mode and included a Targetmaster, which have been few and far between since G1.
    • Classics Starscream - Sure this figure aged somewhat quick. However for someone whose 1st Starscream was G2 Starscream, Classics Starscream was a god send. Just as big as G1 Starscream in robot mode but smaller in fighter mode(a much better fighter mode though). My only wish is that it had better landing gear and bicep swivels.

Cool to see everybody's choices. Just one detail - keep it to deluxes only, folks. Yeah, there are still a heck of a lot of them, but Voyagers, Leaders, Legends, et. al will be other threads.
