DOTM Roadbuster (His Vehicle mode looks nice since it isn't marred by Greeblies, and even with a Backpack, his Robot mode looks quite nice. Helps that he hefts around a Chainsawgun)

DOTM Deluxe Scanning Ratchet.
The mould is great by itself but coupled with the scanning gimmick? Geddafugouaddatown.

DOTM Deluxe Rally Sideswipe.
Sideswipes best mould in a snazzy paint job. Simply a beautiful toy only (maybe) marred by his Allspark blue water pistols.

AoE Evasion Optimus Prime.
Weirdly snuck in here recently. Love the fella, and I group tested him with all the other Movie Voyager Primes I have.

ROTF Voyager Starscream.
I know he's kinda been eclipsed by HFTD Leader Starscream but I think the Voyager has better proportions in jet mode and has a totally insane transformation that's accurate in both modes?

TF07 Realgear Sureshot.
Absolutely serious, I love the Real Gears that look 'real' (like this guy and Speed Dial 600) but this fella is sublime.

Having listed that if HA counted they would all be knocked off by HA Bumblebee, HA Jazz, HA Sideswipe, HA Skids and HA Mudflap. Back then the HA line was insanely good.

 

1. DOTM deluxe Thundercracker

This deluxe has a more interesting/better transformation & layout than Leader Starscream. Best use of plastic choice color blocking. Elegant jetmode and evocatively articulated robotmode.

2. AOE voyager Evasion mode Optimus Prime

This Prime simply nails the perfect robotmode proportions and he combines this with the truckmode I have always prefered over the movie longnose truck.
This is THE epitome of G1 modernized.

3. AOE deluxe Drift

Evocatively articulated like DOTM Thundercracker. Rich blue as well. Fantastic altmode.

4. ROTF deluxe Deep desert Brawl

Fixed shoulders. Awesome colors on a rich mold.

5. DOTM voyager Megatron

Best movie Megatron altmode with articulated trailer hitch. Goodlooking robotmode. His only letdown is the limited/weird shoulder articulation.

DOTM deluxe sidearm sideswipe.. wow, that mold is just absolutely fantastic. i REALLY wish the takara version was cheaper. it's a shame hasbro had to give him red flames. sure, it's a neat little homage, but it's such a great mold.

AOE voyager evasion prime.. i LOVE the mold of this figure. i HATE that they gave it such a terrible color scheme. not only is it not accurate, but it's lazy too. i'm only throwing it on the list because i've painted it a bit, and it looks considerably better.

DOTM deluxe topspin.. i don't know what it is about him, but he's extremely cool. i LOVE all of the guns he's got, for some reason i enjoy the kibble, especially since it's fairly accurate to his on screen appearance. it's just a shame that hasbro never released deluxe leadfoot and the deluxe version of roadbuster is horrible (and annoyingly inaccurate for no good reason)

ROTF deluxe lockdown.. i wouldn't put him on this list because he wasn't in the movie, but he's just so cool. i love how tall his robot mode is. and with the hype of AOE, i'm starting to like him more. now we just need a taller AOE lockdown.

DOTM voyager megatron.. i love the cloak. it's a shame this iteration of megatron never got the leader treatment.

as for honorable ineligible mentions.

the figures that i DON'T have would probably end up being some of my favorites.. namely, deluxe que, deluxe soundwave, human alliance soundwave, and deluxe leadfoot. i would LOVE it if hasbro got their heads out of their asses and figured out a way to release these things. they could even throw human alliance soundwave in a voyager box.. or make it a platinum exclusive... or SOMETHING! it's infuriating. truly infuriating.

also, AOE galvatron and hound look awesome, especially hound. i really hope a third party will give hound some of the other accessories he's got in the movie.

lastly.. my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE piece of movie merchandise EVER released would have to be DMK prime. that thing is just absolutely gorgeous.. tons of posability, wonderful detail, and even though it doesn't transform, it was a TON of fun to put together.

i REALLY REALLY hope takara gives us more dual model kits for the AOE characters.. at the VERY least i'd like at least 2 good guys and 2 bad guys.. prime, lockdown, grimlock, and galvatron.. drift and bumblebee would be awesome too. but i'm sure they won't make any for this movie which is a damn shame.
