I have this idea to turn Universe countdown into a classics machine wars soundwave. Is this too much for a first kitbash? i havent done one before but i think this is a great idea

Personally, I don't think it's too much for a first 'bash. Most of the work should be repainting and other than that, some light mods (maybe a head mod or headswap).

Just look at it from this perspective..........you gotta start SOMEWHERE, right? Why not do what you want and enjoy it? I say go for it, bro.

The only way to find out what you truly can do is to do more than you think you can handle.

I have a commission I'm working of with this exact idea. The light mods should be good practice and a nice first step for a custom.

Do it. I happen to think larger figures are a bit easier. Less friction, less balljoints, bigger heads.

But, if you have some smaller, less expensive figures to practice on a bit, it might save you from making your first mistakes on a $30 toy.

I say don't limit yourself just because it's your first bash. Whether it comes out fantastic or a piece of crap, you learn something from the experience. There are a ton of ideas to be shared and plenty of help to be garnered by this community. So reach for the stars. Why not?

My first repaint was a figure I hated. That way, if I messed up or ruined it, it wouldn't bother me.
