"Aren't you a little short for a stormtrooper?"

I'll be keeping an eye on this one.

You know Tom Cruise was once considered for the role of Iron Man......

This is the only role I'm interested in seeing Tom Cruise play:

I completely dislike Tom Cruise as an actor now (he went from being good to terrible), so I'll definitely be skipping this. Plus he looks ridiculous in that picture.

I wonder how many more of his movies need to flop again and again before people stop hiring this box office poison. Ever since he went off the rails a few years ago with his Scientology meltdowns, the guy can't draw anyone to his movies besides bored soccer moms.

Well, given how financially successful a large portion of his films - for example: Minority Report, War of the Worlds, Valkyrie, Tropic Thunder (for being an R-rated comedy), Knight and Day and all four Mission: Impossible - have been...

...combined with the fact that more than half of his roles have garnered some form of critical acclaim...

...plus the fact that he's pretty much in the top few slots of any "Top X Highest Grossing Actors"-lists...

List of actors by total box-office gross - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Top 10 Most Successful Actors at the Box Office | Top 10 Lists | TopTenz.net

...and mix in his "Hollywood's Highest Paid Actor as of 2012"-status...

...add on top of that his four films that he has(/had) lined up for 2012-2014...

...I'd say that Hollywood really sees no downside to hiring Tom Cruise, and they don't appear to be slowing down or rethinking that MO. His movies a.) make lots of money, b.) are critically well received, c.) his role is well-received or d.) a combination of any of the previous three. Really, if anything, he is the opposite of box-office poison. Yes, the couch-jumping and scientology-thing may get a bit weird, and I know he's not everyone's cup-of-tea, but to say that Tom Cruise is "box office poison" is, well, wrong. No offense, Incepticon. :)  Even his recent career (which would obviously been more affected by his behaviour than his previous hits like Top Gun, Risky Business, Jerry Maguire, etc.) isn't in any danger of petering out or anything. Worst case scenario, the only thing All You Need is Kill is in danger of being is "mediocre $250 million Tom Cruise action vehicle #9".

Now, Mel Gibson as "box office poison" on the other hand... :lol

    ^^^Awesome.

I actually like Tom Cruise just fine, however, I'm still SMH at his casting as Jack Reacher.

I don't know what SMH means, but if it means confused then I am too.

Tom Cruise? Meh. Mech suit? I'm there. Suit looks a little silly, but I assume postproduction will fix that.

He's up on stage now with Bill Paxon doing quotes from the movie Aliens.

The movie appears to be Ground Hog day with aliens and mech suits.
