Yeah, that design is actually really clever, using the headlights as eyes. I guess he'd look pretty demonic when they're on.

Thanks! No problem. Yes Star Saber is a bit taller than UM and it is more hefty. I have never seen Starsaber in a cartoon only in Youtube but I can see why it won the lottery for the next masterpiece. You will like it!

I'm still wondering if Star Saber does count as MP 23, TT might put him under a different designation..?

I'm fairly sure he's not MP-23 - the pictures from the show clearly have the other three upcoming MPs labeled with their numbers, but there is no such label next to Starsaber. I think he'll have his own, special designation.

My thoughts too, probably a 30th anniversary designation? Hopefully they've got the designer of SS working on Victory Leo next :)

Is the show still going on then? When will the reveal happen?

Yeah? I was expecting a similar event from previous years. A video presentation of the next MP figures. Remember the fake Shockwave?

I'm pretty sure that the Tokyo Toy Show ended yesterday(Sunday). It doesn't look like TT planned a presentation/panel for this year's show. Which is odd since there is definitely a lot that can be presented and promoted. This being the 30th anniversary, a movie year, and the fact that all the "new" MP projects are still scheduled for future release. Maybe Kobayashi and Yuki are shy?

I get the impression that there is some disarray in how the MP line is being managed right now. Moving Hasui off a project "mid-design" and canceling the MP activities after announcing them on their schedule seems very unusual. Maybe they're shifting gears due to the sudden success they've seen with the line and can't keep up?

LOL do you live in your own reality or something, in which TTS still goes on?

    Show ended yesterday, no MP23.

Honestly do not understand why people were expecting anything besides what we got from the show.

We got -exactly- what I thought we would, which is very generous compared to last year.

I wasn't expecting to see anything beyond more artist renderings regarding Star Saber, so seeing the full thing on display was pretty cool.

As for numberings, Star Saber getting his own special designation instead of MP-20something still seems dumb to me (and that's regardless of whether he's perfectly in-scale or not with the rebooted line). It's a silly thing, certainly, but it brings out the OCD-part of me that doesn't understand the need to differentiate him from the rest of the line. He's still a G1 Transformer receiving the MP treatment. A special designation feels, in my eyes, unnecessary, even if he is coming from the results of a fan poll.

Ironhide/Ratchet. It seems like an obvious choice, both characters are popular and it's a two-for mold so it'll start paying for itself quite quickly.

I would still find it unnecessary. Why would Victory Leo's presence make it make any more sense? Why bother changing the numbering system, period? They can do what they want, of course, and seeing something random instead of MP-20something won't affect my ability to enjoy the toy at all. It still wouldn't make much sense to me.
