    TIL

Whenever you're calling someone "another word for cat", you're not actually referring to a feminine body part. You're actually using an abbreviated version of the word, "pusillanimous." The word means: A lack of courage or determination.

    Definition of PUSILLANIMOUS

Maybe this ought to be in a useless fact thread or something.

Today I learned that there are some websites that it's honorable and dignifying to get banned than being an active user

Aren't the majority of discord mods the exact same power hungry fools like reddit mods and ban you for no real reason

In my experience people who claim to be banned "for no real reason" are almost always banned for VERY good reasons.

I once got banned for 30 days from a Nintendo fansite because I was supposedly not speaking the Queen's English.

I was a Iike F-you and never went back. Found out a few years ago that the site is dead. Couldn't have happened to a nicer group of jackasses.

Sometimes something makes a lot of sense and you wonder why no one else thought of it before now.

Disclaimer: I'm not an engineer. However, based on what I do know about energy, efficiency, and basic mechanics, honestly, that seems really inefficient if not outright detrimental.

When you try to use rotation (or anything, really) to charge something, you're basically "stealing" energy from whatever's driving the generator (in this case, that back wheel). So in other words, you're taking energy that would be used towards the car moving forward and putting it into the battery (think of it like adding a form of drag to that tire; even if it's not one of the actual driving/powered wheels, you're putting a kind of stress on it that makes the driving/powered wheels need to work harder to reach the same speed). Ultimately this makes it harder to go forward. And because of how energy generation efficiency works, you will unavoidably generate less energy for the battery than is being taken from the tire (e.g. if you take 10 joules from the tire, then you will never get that full 10 joules put into the battery; in fact, you will probably get much less). This is due to effects such as generating waste heat. I'm pretty sure this is why cars (even non-electric ones) use regenerative breaking instead: you want to slow down the tires in that case, so why not take some of the "stolen" energy that would otherwise just be wasted and put it into the battery?

Today I learned that in "Who Let the Dogs Out?" the dogs refer to catcalling men.

"I tell the fellas start the name callin'
    Yippie yi yo
And the girls respond to the call
I heard a woman shout out:

    Who let the dogs out?"
